So they are going to remove the concourse behind the basket and replace it with seating, and then rebuild a new concourse (with the team store and presumably food stands and bathrooms) outside of the building?

Makes sense, a lot more unused space out front of the current building.

The new entrance would be on the parking lot side. The current entrance would now just be the side of the arena. Not sure what they do with the bus loop and grass field.

I thought the older version of the front entrance and grand lobby looked far more appealing.

a glass facade on an already old and ugly building seems like a pretty sure fire way to look bad. They’re probably just doing that to fit in with the business school architecture which seems forced onto this arena.

also I would there a bit more attraction going on in the lobby than shown.

Seats all the way to the rafters. No more bleachers
I noticed that too... I'm not sure if that is the artist doing that for simplicity or the concept that they were given.

I love the wraparound seating in the lower bowl. it probably helps to make up for a little lost seating where some club seats appear to be located at the top of the 100s.

In all, it looks really awesome.

Yeah the old rendering had a nicer front entrance.

I’m more concerned about the atmosphere. Can’t risk that and I like what I see.

Does anyone know if with the renovation, they're adding more seats to get to 10,000?

Also moving the front entrance to the parking lot side is stupid , in my opinion.

you have this grand large open space in front. Use it to add to the appeal. Why do you want to make the grand entrance facing a hideous parking lot full of solar panels. That’s going to look terrible. Again.

Honestly, I wouldn't do any major renovation of the arena. Upgrade seats. Boxes over the concourse and offices. But still leave places to congregate.

And add space around or for shops food walking, 10x the bathrooms etc

Keep in mind these are just renderings. They aren't developed for details, just to give an overall picture of what could be before the design process begins.

Items like keeping the old facade and the interior ceilings will most likely be developed.

No chance of getting to 10K. From what I heard, an increase of 500-1,000 seats is expected.
The lack of revenue has been a constant concern at Rutgers.Additional seating to 10,000 should be a given with any major renovation along with additional rest rooms, concessions stands and a new exterior entramce similar to what Pernetti proposed in his renderings for the RAC.Its been many decades since the RAC was built and the necessary upgrades should be done now so it has a more modern look and still gives the team a strong home court advantage.
