Acoustics?? Less ceiling tin for reflecting soundIndeed.![]()
It’s New Jersey construction timelines, it’ll take 6 months just to get the permits and 6 months to finish the inspectionsThis is something I feel they can do in the off season tbh. Probably don't really need a year away from the RAC.
Those are optimistic estimates. Every supposed 2 yr project takes at least 5 yrs to completeIt’s New Jersey construction timelines, it’ll take 6 months just to get the permits and 6 months to finish the inspections
Makes sense, a lot more unused space out front of the current building. So they are going to remove the concourse behind the basket and replace it with seating, and then rebuild a new concourse (with the team store and presumably food stands and bathrooms) outside of the building?
The new entrance would be on the parking lot side. The current entrance would now just be the side of the arena. Not sure what they do with the bus loop and grass field.Makes sense, a lot more unused space out front of the current building.
I noticed that too... I'm not sure if that is the artist doing that for simplicity or the concept that they were given.Seats all the way to the rafters. No more bleachers
Yeah the old rendering had a nicer front entrance.I thought the older version of the front entrance and grand lobby looked far more appealing.
a glass facade on an already old and ugly building seems like a pretty sure fire way to look bad. They’re probably just doing that to fit in with the business school architecture which seems forced onto this arena.
also I would there a bit more attraction going on in the lobby than shown.
And then you gotta pay Johnny Jumbot for his consulting services. It’s New Jersey construction timelines, it’ll take 6 months just to get the permits and 6 months to finish the inspections
Remove it. Make the area like the yard on college aveThe new entrance would be on the parking lot side. The current entrance would now just be the side of the arena. Not sure what they do with the bus loop and grass field.
I’m more concerned about the atmosphere. Can’t risk that and I like what I see.I thought the older version of the front entrance and grand lobby looked far more appealing.

Yeah that's wayy nicer but also wayy more expensive.Yeah the old rendering had a nicer front entrance.
They are. I’ve seen them.Pike was asked today about the RAC plans and he made it clear he doesn't want much changing.
These sketches are what I think we were all hoping for, hope they're legit.
When do you think this construction may take place Cali? Not that they are playing lax anymore at Yurcak but the new scoreboard and lights are in placeThey are. I’ve seen them.
I like the older look too. But, with that said, just adding a new front entrance lobby with all of the accoutrements added is a MAJOR PLUS.Yeah the old rendering had a nicer front entrance.
Does anyone know if with the renovation, they're adding more seats to get to 10,000?I noticed that too... I'm not sure if that is the artist doing that for simplicity or the concept that they were given.
I love the wraparound seating in the lower bowl. it probably helps to make up for a little lost seating where some club seats appear to be located at the top of the 100s.
In all, it looks really awesome.
No chance of getting to 10K. From what I heard, an increase of 500-1,000 seats is expected.Does anyone know if with the renovation, they're adding more seats to get to 10,000?
The lack of revenue has been a constant concern at Rutgers.Additional seating to 10,000 should be a given with any major renovation along with additional rest rooms, concessions stands and a new exterior entramce similar to what Pernetti proposed in his renderings for the RAC.Its been many decades since the RAC was built and the necessary upgrades should be done now so it has a more modern look and still gives the team a strong home court advantage. No chance of getting to 10K.
