Iowa has NEVER had that homecourt advantage, EVER, in the decades I've been watching, which started in the old Iowa Field House under Ralph Miller. Iowa gets screwed home and away, always has and, apparently, always will. How good Iowa is doesn't make one damn bit of difference. How many All-Americans Iowa has doesn't make one damn bit of difference. Iowa's treatment by the refs is a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma.I'd LOVE to have the Breslin, Mackey, Hilton, Cameron Indoor affect in Carver....And I know you would too.
Simple answer: Put the product on the floor those programs have.
Not much of a fight? LOLAnd the start of the 2nd half when we were gettin' it handed to us and we had no answer and didn't really put up much of a fight.
And not a funny one. Not funny at all. It was horseshit, to use a term they might understand in Ames.Officiating was a joke.
This is a fact. Go look at the video evidence. It's pretty damn clear.ISU was fouling multiple times each and every possession.
You are an idiot. Look at the video. No objective observer would agree with you since, well, that's not quite what transpired. Call the game the same at both ends, and Iowa wins easily. Pretty clear on the video.Fully expected a letdown after spanking the best team in the B10 at their crib. Clones got the dub in spite of all the tackling the hawks did in the paint.
They were Big 10 refs.
Yes, and thank gawd none of your boys got hurt. LOLNobody said they got away with it. They rarely moved their feet to get in good guarding position and the result was a trip to the FT line. But tackling can take a toll on the offensive player, but fortunately the Clones played through it.
Iowa State just took the no. 1 team in the country and beat them handily.
Let down when Iowa State is playing Iowa? K.Fully expected a letdown after spanking the best team in the B10 at their crib. Clones got the dub in spite of all the tackling the hawks did in the paint.
We must be about the same age. I too watched many a game in the Field House. How did Millers team with Brown and Johnson go undefeated in the Big 10 and beat Purdue and Rick Mount? And when Olson came to Iowa and played Indiana and Knight? The crowd was very vocal that night with many sneaking in b/c no tickets available (me included). Then there's Tom Davis taking Ravelings recruits to 30 wins. Pretty good crowd support then.Iowa has NEVER had that homecourt advantage, EVER, in the decades I've been watching, which started in the old Iowa Field House under Ralph Miller. Especially for Stirtz, that ISU dude had his hand up Stirtz's a.. all game long. Can’t feel too good when a freshman shuts down your best player
Kirk also loves that these guys try hard.
Would it be better for you if he didn't?Kirk also loves that these guys try hard.
Iowa state had some long armed defenders, especially on Stirtz. Hope this helps him in the long run. Personally think he needs some breaks from time to time. BIG is not the ValleyI think they need to rethink this Stirtz iron man thing. Yes he is a talented player but.....
He has to put a lot more effort in on both ends of the court this season vs at Drake.
His ball handling and quickness are not next level which causes him to have to work quite hard.
The two games they lossed he was not on his game and it seems like they are forcing things through him too much. Some breathers throughout the game might be in order.
A number of other players showed they can make critical shots and I prefer an open shot from one of them to him forcing and taking bad shots. Howard has impressed me as has Combs in their ability to drive and hit shots. Sage is coming on more and more. Folgers, Cam and Banks and Koch have all hit some key shots.
Agree. The officiating sucked.Sure. But that doesn't make the refs' one-sided whistles any more acceptable. It's bullshitt, plain and simple.
220…221…Whatever it takesEspecially for Stirtz, that ISU dude had his hand up Stirtz's a.. all game long.
Guess Cyclone fans like to watch.
I said at the start of 2nd half You need the glassesNot much of a fight? LOL
I guess that's how Iowa got back to a 2-point game at the end. I think you need some new glasses, or maybe . . .
You obviously don't like Iowa's "product"?!I'd LOVE to have the Breslin, Mackey, Hilton, Cameron Indoor affect in Carver....And I know you would too.

Don't get all giddy reading btw the lines. Never said anything about not liking the product. Never liked Fran-ball tbh. As a matter of fact, bought tickets this year for the first time in a long while. You obviously don't like Iowa's "product"?!
Agree, ISU will likely be top5!Iowa State will not finish the year in the top 10. We will not finish in the top 25.
It's always tough to withstand another teams superbowl! Iowa likely played their best game of the season...and lost. You 'shut down' Iowa's best player, but only won by 4pts; at home. This after going on the road and kicking the former #1 team's azz.
.... congrats?
Not sure where the "GOTCHA!" here is that you're trying to point out. If anything, it makes your win look even less impressive than it already was.
Just because you ISU fans feel that way about playing Iowa, doesn't mean the opposite is true. Pretty sure I've never heard a continuously loud "F* the Clones" chant in either Carver or Kinnick before, unlike the opposite last night in Hilton. It's always tough to withstand another teams superbowl! Iowa likely played their best game of the season...and lost.

Nice troll job lol. It's always tough to withstand another teams superbowl! Iowa likely played their best game of the season...and lost.
Can't spell DELUSION without 'ISU'.Fully expected a letdown after spanking the best team in the B10 at their crib. Clones got the dub in spite of all the tackling the hawks did in the paint.
imagine being rated the “4th best” team in the country, barely winning at home against a first-year coach, then coming to that team’s board to flex.
Especially after needing a large free throw disparity and one-sided officiating to squeak out a win.
L…O…L
As to the OP, what would hurt more? Giving up 100 points to Iowa State and losing by 25 +, or actually being competitive with a promising first-year coach and losing by 4?
iowa State is good and nearly unbeatable at home. This was a good benchmark game for Iowa. Nothing to be disappointed about.
When did you ever think this was “that team’s board”? This is the cheap seats used by wannabes to commiserate with other like minded wannabes who can’t afford a subscription. You know why traffic always slows on the opposite side side of the interstate when there is a wreck?imagine being rated the “4th best” team in the country, barely winning at home against a first-year coach, then coming to that team’s board to flex.

Home court is worth 5-8 points per game. The refs are 99% of the time going to have a home whistle. They make a home call, get huge applause and start to feel the game is about them. The flamboyant charge calls, out of bound calls is an example of look at me. Human nature is to want to be liked. They get wrapped up in the adoration. And everyone in that building BOOS every damn time there's a whistle against them, regardless of sport or score, etc, it's absolutely maddening. Hilton seemingly gets the Izzo treatment to get the team back in the game...
Is that supposed to mean something? The refs sucked regardless of where they came from. ISU fouled multiple times on each Iowa possession yet the foul and ft discrepancy favoring ISU tells me the refs were not calling a fair game. Iowa won in every other statistical category. It was the fouls and ft that gave the game to ISU.They were Big 10 refs.
