Thank you Michigan?

If you believe the B1G statement and video not showing the clock in it, and ignore the actual video of the stadium clock, then I have a bridge for sale in Brooklyn that may interest you. We all saw the stadium clock at 0:00 before a player touched the ball on video and that was the official clock, even Terry McAulay confirmed it was.
Stadium clock is not the official clock. And they said this AM on ESPN that the TV crew was wrong.

Here is the official B1G statement, which IMO raises more questions than it answers.

"Following video review, it was determined Western Michigan’s #18 started his jump from an established out-of-bounds position (left foot) and made contact with the ball with one second remaining on the clock. As shown in the provided video of what was viewed during the replay process, a side-by-side view of the play and the game clock, using a direct shot of the game clock in the stadium, was used to determine the final ruling." (Emphasis added.)

So, they used the game clock. That nullifies McAuley's "two clock" theory, which is the only theory that makes sense.

Because if they are claiming that the game clock still had a second left on it when the ball was touched, they are asking us to ignore the evidence of our own eyes:

They said on ESPN this AM that the clock on NBC was incorrect.

That would be the only remaining conclusion,.but it raises the question of how that is possible, since everything is supposed to be synced up.

Should be easy enough to demonstrate if true. Just superimpose the insert of the game clock onto the NBC clip and see if the clocks differ.

So simple explanation we are being told for the first time in history of televised football that the stadium game clock we have been using / watching is actually not correct
Not the stadium game clock. The NBC clock on the TV screen, which is supposed to be in perfect sync with the game clock, but apparently wasn't.

The stadium clock is official, and is what the replay crew used. The problem is that the NBC clock was out of sync with the stadium clock.

This is what bothers me too. If there is a different official clock, then why has this not come up before?

No. NBC's clock was the official stadium clock. They're literally telling you to ignore that. NBC didn't create a different clock on the screen during that play. They had a camera on the official clock and showed it live on TV.

Again, he plays this character better than anyone

Yeah, aside from his support for T2T, he is now officially a POS to me.

Another addition to my personal list of total disregard..actors, musicians, political dopes, and characters like him.
Hey Dave..bite this.

You are right. I found a clip on which the stadium clock (which is always official) showed exactly the same evidence as the clip with the NBC clock. They were in sync. Both clearly showed that the ball was still in the air, untouched, at triple zero.

So if the replay official's clip, which showed a second left, is also accurate (which it appears to be), and if they worked off the same clock (as they claim), then there is no rational explanation for the discrepancy. We are either talking about supernatural forces or foul play. I'll go with Door #2.

Ruling on field was game over? Irrefutable video evidence not shared?

Anyone see the TD for Boston College overturned when 100% said.."this will take 2 seconds it was so clear a fumble, recovery for TD".. haha..nope. took it away.

I think they had 1 bite do the review. Or he called and paid them on the spot.

The irrefutable evidence was indeed shared. The B1G released a video clip, complete with audio commentary, which clearly indicated there was 1 second left on the clock. Problem is, it conflicts with the irrefutable visual evidence that we all witnessed. The only plausible explanation is that they weren't working from the same clock. But they insist that they were. So I am stumped.

I literally just watched John Fanta on the NBC halftime report say their clock was not correct. He was calling for the use of one clock.

Fanta is lying. Terry confirmed last night that the camera was on the official game clock and synched. Now after everyone got together for a couple hours there's some 2nd secret clock that 2 people can see. 👌

Doesn’t make sense that the scoreboard clock in college football isn’t official. The players and coaches have a right to know exactly how much time is left, like the shot clock and game clock in basketball that shows tenths of a second.

At the end of the day, why does the football clock not show tenths of a second like every other sport? Why? It's in the rulebook to only show whole seconds with truncation. Bring the technology current.

Does anyone think that if it was Rutgers in the same situation that Michigan was in in that game that they would have added one second to the clock and given Rutgers another shot at a Hail Mary ?
BTW, if you were the Western Michigan head coach what do you tell your players after they had that huge win taken away from them by the refs ?

If you have different video results showing 2 different things that is not irrefutable based on my understanding of the definition of the word.

A Hail Mary - to undo a Hail Mary.

But, seriously, I am more confused now than ever. We know that there were two clocks:
  1. The NBC virtual clock that the TV viewers saw - which showed that time had expired.
  2. The physical scoreboard clock - which ALSO showed that time had expired.
Was there a third clock visible only to the replay officials?
