I saw the play you’re referring to. I suppose it could have been reviewed for targeting, but I don’t think it would have resulted in a penalty. If you call that block targeting, you’re going to have to call it about 15 times per game.
Kind of ominous. 3rd and less than a yard. Ohio state’s scared to go straight ahead.

Win or lose? I think people need to recognize Ryan Day as a average coach.
He has the most money, the greatest roster and the best assistance around him. He should look like a great coach.
Ohio state just has no ability to be patient and take what the defense gives them. They’re insisting on trying to hit big plays. They’ll find some stuff that works, then try to hit a big one over the top and stall out. Just dumb and stubborn.
Going by the definition of targeting in the rule book, it should be targeting. I saw that too. I've never seen targeting called on an offensive player. I've often seen a defensive player come in low for a tackle and the running back ducks his head to go helmet to helmet. I've yet to see that called targeting.
That’s part of it. But the opening drive of the second half, they were moving the ball running, and then they took a shot to smith and got picked.

Chip Kelly isn't calling the game like he's been doing the last couple of games. He's outsmarting himself. Not running the ball or using the counter
