I’d expect a game similar to the Florida one. Their place will probably be packed for UK and they will be hitting shots they haven’t hit all year. Got to weather that early storm and hopefully come out with some fire of our own.

I think we’d be in a good, long term position if we start sec play off with two solid road wins.

So far most teams know that we have spurts and droughts, so I'd be surprised if any of them gives up, even if we're up 20. We've shown way too often that we are completely capable of letting teams back in it. 14 pt lead last night, down to 3. 14 point lead against KU, lost the game. A few others were double digit leads that were dwindled quickly to single digits.

Florida is a WAY better team than A&M, and the crowd won't be any louder or rowdier than it was in Gainesville. I think we romp.

Hey, here's an idea, Calipari should start Sheppard so we don't get off to a slow st oh never mind.
Or at least insert him sooner than 5-7 minutes into the game. Last night I was wondering what the heck was going on when it was almost 5 minutes in and Reed was still in warmup jacket on the bench.

Of course, as you likely know, Cal squashed any chance for Reed or Rob starting in his press conference recently. Edwards is the one player that should NOT be starting, but Cal keeps forcing that square peg into a round hole. 14 games in and Edwards has not shown me any improvement, at least not anywhere close to even a 1st or 2nd round pick. But there he is, starting, every game...

Texas A&M will come out firing on all cylinders against Kentucky. For some unknown reason, their players will shoot like a top 5 team come Saturday.

If Kentucky wins Saturday, we should be in the top 5 come next Monday. Especially after Houston and Purdue losing. Purdue looks overrated imo.

Wasn't it Purdue who lost to a 16 seed last year?

A and m shoots 27% from 3 or something. They will hit 10 to 12 on Saturday.

And I agree Edwards shouldn't start but feel Thiero should so we have more size (if he ever plays again).

I like the gunners off the bench as long as they get enough minutes.

The last 3 halves we are plus 10, plus 7 and plus 4 before the other guys come in so it's gotten better. Edwards weak link though.

I'm seeing they're 0-2 to start the SEC and you know they need a win badly. My hope is that they'll give up if we punch them in the mouth early.
I watched the 2nd half of the Auburn vs. Texas A&M game, and A&M looked horrible offensively. Auburn didn't look much better, but it seemed like A&M could hardly score outside of free throws and put-backs. And I don't think it was great defense. For example, their players repeatedly just lost the ball while driving for layups.

But come Saturday, when UK comes to town, you can bet the adrenaline will be flowing and the shots falling like rain.

Becoming a trend to wait until 14:00 to go in the half before putting Reed/Dilly into the game. Have noticed that in both Florida and Mizzou games.

Watched the game, too. While the offenses weren't stellar, the frontcourt defenses created a very physical game. Almost a war-like atmosphere in there, too. Auburn's frontline is a load. A&M's not too bad, either.

I agree. I love knowing that we have some ballers coming in after the other team starts getting winded. To me, it doesn't make a huge difference who starts, as long as people like Shep and Dilly are getting a big chunk of minutes.

Thiero will play eventually. I would prefer he heal up as we have shown we can get it done without him.

Texas A&M will be a tough game at their place . I watch the 2md half also and A&M had 17 turnovers but still hung tough with Auburn . I hope we can win at Texas A&M .

I'm in the don't fix it if it isn't broke group w/ starters, but what was up w/ the late sub last night? I don't remember any other game where they weren't subbed in before the 4 minute timeout...last night it was a couple minutes after coming out. I like hitting the nitrous button a little quicker than that...

Did we do that against Florida? I actually missed the first 6/7 minutes of that game...Reed and Rob were already in when I started watching

We started the game 6-8, including 4-6 from 3, and scored 16 points in 4 minutes.

Name one coach in AMERICA that would sub someone out and mess with that rhythm when we were on the roll that we were on?

What exactly was your issue with the first 5 minutes that you think we so desperately needed to sub?

We were up in both SEC games before Reed and rob checked in.

Reed plays 25 minutes. Edwards 18.

Who cares who starts.

The Houston Texans may help water down their atmosphere some. We may have gotten a little bit of a blessing there.

Why do we do this?

Nebraska is good. It was in Lincoln, and the Huskers went 13-22 from 3.

Even elite teams take some L’s sometimes. Purdue is still good. And UK will still be good if we take an L in College Station.

So hard to gather anything from what I watched yesterday. Both teams looked sloppy as hell offensively. Turnovers, couldn’t score, terrible forced shots, etc. Not sure if TAM simply had a bad night, or if it really was Auburn’s defense (currently #6 in Kenpom AdjD) forcing them to make errors. No doubt their place is going to be rocking. They NEED an SEC win. Whether or not the zebras come out for home court is TBD

Yes they will, I think they will have a hard time matching up with us if we are on our game and ready to play. SEC road games are no picnic regardless of who it is or how they are playing coming into the game. It's UK, it's t-shirts, it's red, white, black or green outs all over the place

Can this bunch gut another one out when the chips are down?

Nebraska had exceptionally quick switching on D, I thought it was impressive, and Purdue looked STUNNED at what was happening.

Also, that Zach guy is S L O W, seems to have little motor.

Their interior is hurt without Julius Marble. They still get a ton of rebounds, but he provided a really solid interior presence that Coleman alone can't provide.

Yes, it is ironic I would say that. Maybe hypocritical? Let me qualify my statement... I hope they give up "in this game" if we punch them in the mouth. In life, I hope they never give up. 😀

They are going to come hard at us and muck up the game with grabbing and holding. Our guys better be ready for contact all game.

Agreed. I hope our guys are expecting the game to be rough, to get pushed and grabbed and also for the referees to let it go on our end and make calls on us on the other end. It's just the SEC on the road. Expect it. You're gonna have to earn every point and you're gonna have to keep pushing through, not looking for calls, because they're not likely coming.
