I just re-watched the 2nd half of the game. No way to say that ball was "definitely" off the rim due to the camera angle. If there was a camera directly above the rim, it may have very well been in the cylinder. However, it was certainly a very close call. Even if that call goes Rutgers way, what I noticed from just re-watching the second half is that Rutgers had at least two and perhaps three times where a 3-second call for camping in the lane against #2 Doorson, Dorsey, and #15 or #5 was not called. Also, at the 4:25 mark there was definitely a travel on Rutgers #5 that wasn't called. Lastly, not sure why when Iowa's up 2 with 13 seconds to go after Rutgers called the time-out with the ball, why Iowa wouldn't foul? Rutgers hadn't been shooting free throws well down the stretch, but even if they make both, it's a tie game with more time on the clock for Iowa to try to win it in regulation, or game goes to OT. I suppose coaches are afraid they will foul a guy in the act of shooting. Guess that's why I'm not coaching.I have been watching basketball for over 60 years and the BIG 10 is a physical league. Our guys were right up into the grill of the Iowa guys.
The ball on the tip was definitely off the rim when Johnson tipped it in.
Kiss was shooting from three when he got mugged with no call.
Mathis was sandwiched in the first half by two guys when driving to the basket with no call.
Bohannon grabbed Mathis with no play at all on the ball when he was running for a breakaway layup but of course that was overlooked. A play like that is in the rule book as being flagrant. We definitely got the wrong end of the stick on all of these calls.
For the Iowa fan to claim we have no basketball IQ I think he should check what he is saying. Bohannon drives all night long with his elbow out. It is all there on a video replay.
The bottom line is that Iowa has won two games in a row that they got lucky on. Their fans should just take the wins and move on.

I don’t mean for this to come across as condescending, but it probably will.I just re-watched the 2nd half of the game. No way to say that ball was "definitely" off the rim due to the camera angle. Pause this at the 8 second mark and tell me that ball is on the cylinder.I just re-watched the 2nd half of the game. No way to say that ball was "definitely" off the rim due to the camera angle. If there was a camera directly above the rim, it may have very well been in the cylinder.
There is a way to say it. Allow me to show you. The ball was without a doubt 100% off the rim.I just re-watched the 2nd half of the game. You do not understand perspective.Pause this at the 8 second mark and tell me that ball is on the cylinder.
What the hell are you talking about? Perspective? Timing? It’s if the ball was on or off the basket at the time of the tip. The ball was off and the ref blew the call. It’s that simple. You do not understand perspective.Pause this at the 8 second mark and tell me that ball is on the cylinder.
There is no way of knowing if part of that ball is over the cylinder even if you see daylight. Imagine placing a ball directly over the center of the cylinder but 2 feet up.. you will see plenty of daylight.
I think its a bad call because of the time involved and the obvious delay in the tip.. that is, our guy waited.. he went up and waited for the ball to come toward his hand.. and as I said early.. the guy who called it was behind him... did not have the angle to make that call. He was guessing. The refs with side views did NOT make that call. It was more OFF then ON the cylinder.. bad call... bad guess.
