You can't be serious.Cliff has shown tremendous improvement since last season but he isn't the MVP.Harper is the MVP because he is the leading scorer while playing with multiple injuries. The two winning baskets against Purdue and Indiana are shots that few college players could make.He wants the ball at crunch time similar to Baker two years ago.To me the answer is simple, and it’s Cliff in a landslide. He is also most improved. Everyone on the team had off nights. He has not had one in 2022.
Would make a good poll, Mug.To me the answer is simple, and it’s Cliff in a landslide. He is also most improved. Everyone on the team had off nights. He has not had one in 2022.
I agree that his offense (including free-throw shooting) left a lot to be desired, but Myles was an excellent fit for last year's team. He was arguably the best defensive player in the B1G. We would not have sniffed the big dance last season without him on the court. So is everyone here ready to admit being wrong about Myles ? Told you so. He was a terrible, unathletic and uncoordinated offensive player and only a decent rebounder because of his position in the paint.
I am sure Im no longer the only one glad he’s gone.
Now we have a legit big man who would not have developed nearly as much while watching Myles continue to set basketball offense back 50 years.
Agreed. If you take away Cliff we are probably pretty bad. Reiber and Agee would not be able to fill that voidIf you are going by the literal sense of the most valuable player it almost isnt debateable that the answer is Cliff.
I liked Cliff over Myles bc of athleticism upside and offense but would love to have had Myles as a backup. Imagine if we could bring him in against Edey and KofiSo is everyone here ready to admit being wrong about Myles ? Told you so. Crazy thing is Myles is a much better defender against IU,PUR and ILL.....however we were still 3-2 in those games AND we might not have had a 3-2 record if those 3 teams realized Myles could neutralize their big guys and they wouldn't have had a game plan force feeding it inside and getting perimeter players out of rhtymnI liked Cliff over Myles bc of athleticism upside and offense but would love to have had Myles as a backup. Yea I'm still surprised we did so well against Purdue and Illinois bc of our lack of size and depth at 5 defensively. Myles really did shut down TJD tooCrazy thing is Myles is a much better defender against IU,PUR and ILL.....however we were still 3-2 in those games AND we might not have had a 3-2 record if those 3 teams realized Myles could neutralize their big guys and they wouldn't have had a game plan force feeding it inside and getting perimeter players out of rhtymn
All those teams game plans were to go to the low post every possession.Yea I'm still surprised we did so well against Purdue and Illinois bc of our lack of size and depth at 5 defensively. Myles really did shut down TJD too

It’s got to be Ron. Leading scorer, won multiple games with clutch shooting and was the focus of every team.Cliff is most improved, followed by Paul.
Ron is undoubtably the MVP
Not putting down RHJ in the least, but imo it’s not even close. Ron had some stinky games where he was a non factor. Cliff brought it every night. Last night they were co MVP’sIt’s got to be Ron. Leading scorer, won multiple games with clutch shooting and was the focus of every team.
This team did spread out the roles really well. You could argue it’s Caleb or Cliff too. There was a stretch where Paul was the most important player. Geo is undervalued too here. He played a ton of minutes and did everything.
1. Cliff started over Myles before anyway. He would definitely start over Myles now1. he wouldn’t have been the backup .
2. being unathletic, he’d be dominated by those two players and also Dickinson. Plus, other bigs rested on defense against Myles. Cliff makes them play both ends which affects their offense.
3. Mike ... ‘a lot to be desired’ is the understatement of the year. ‘Terrible’ is more like it.
I have mixed emotions on Myles. He was so good defensively, but he was in perpetual foul trouble, and his offense and especially free throw shooting was putrid. I actually think that all three transfers were addition through subtraction as each loss allowed Paul and Cliff to flourish and I don’t think that happens with them thereI agree that his offense (including free-throw shooting) left a lot to be desired, but Myles was an excellent fit for last year's team. MVP is the player you could least likely afford to loseYou can't be serious.Cliff has shown tremendous improvement since last season but he isn't the MVP.Harper is the MVP because he is the leading scorer while playing with multiple injuries. The two winning baskets against Purdue and Indiana are shots that few college players could make.He wants the ball at crunch time similar to Baker two years ago.
I think Chuckie is actually the MVP as the turn around coincided with his stupid postPike is the MVP
We don't have to speculate on how Myles would fare against Kofi, Edey/Trevion, or Dickinson. We can look at last year's box scores. Bottom line, I think Myles can slow down Kofi and Edey but would struggle more with Williams and Dickinson this year. I don't think Edey is exceptionally athletic, but he has a VERY LARGE athlete.2. being unathletic, he’d be dominated by those two players and also Dickinson. I can’t see who would stand in his way. I guess Dickinson? Cliff is just so athletic thoughRon, but I'm thinking cliff has a legit chance at 1st team all big ten next year
Cliff had many nights where he shot the ball 3-6 times. And most of those attempts were wide open dunks. Your MVP does not have games where he’s not involved. He just wasn’t a major part of the offense because he’s game needed to develop. I’m not belittling his impact but there were too many nights like that. Next year I expect him get the ball a lot more. Not putting down RHJ in the least, but imo it’s not even close. Ron had some stinky games where he was a non factor. Cliff brought it every night.
