Frost was OC and QB coach at Oregon prior to UCF and was recruiting Milton for Oregon. When he left Oregon for UCF Milton followed him. Hawaiian product Toa Tagovailoa is the backup QB at Alabama also very talented and will be interesting to see how they keep him happy there as he is a super talent.

This was a quote on an earlier thread on Milton from UCF, but i think we figured how they are going to keep Tau happy.

He won’t be the backup next year.

Kid is smart. Had his head in the game and read defense like a senior.

Just face it - Bama is playoff bound every year. They stack the schedule that way and don’t even have to win their division. You just have to play a perfect game against them and hope they are off. There are an NFL team posing as a college team.

And does no one find it peculiar that his family relocated to Alabama?!?!?!? NCAA is a JOKE

Meanwhile RU is in probation for hiring hot girls to escort recruits and looking the other way on a few failed drug tests...

Alabama 2018 schedule

Sept. 1 vs. Louisville (Orlando)
Sept. 8 vs. Arkansas State
Sept. 15: at Ole Miss
Sept. 22: Texas A&M at Alabama
Sept. 29: vs Louisiana-Lafayette
Oct. 6: at Arkansas
Oct. 13: vs. Missouri
Oct. 20: at Tennessee
Nov. 3: at LSU
Nov. 10: vs. Mississippi State
Nov. 17: vs The Citadel
Nov. 24: vs. Auburn

With Lamar Jackson going pro, the non-conference schedule is soft. East division opponents are soft, too, with Missouri and Tennessee starting over with a new coach.

Play of the game may have been that 3rd down scramble by Tua to keep a drive alive that ended in their first TD. If UGA gets the sack there, who knows?

I think it would be pretty hard to move from Hawaii and find a new job for mom and dad unless the family is independently wealthy

WR (DeVonta Smoith) who caught final TD a freshman too. Kid had 7 receptions all year.

Don't find it peculiar at all. Relocating from Hawaii to Alabama to watch your son play football? Hawaii's the 7th most expensive state to live. Alabama the 12th cheapest. Easy decision for the family.

Nuts, the implication is that it has nothing to do with cost of living and everything to do with their new "jobs". The NCAA obsesses over a player receiving improper benefits directly, but it has long been rumored that indirect benefits like boosters inventing lucrative jobs for the family members is a way SEC football (and a certain devilish BB team in NC) maintain their success.

I know he’s a true Frosh and that Bama has had success with Hurts as the starting QB, but Tua was sitting on the bench all season?! He’s clearly a much better thrower than Hurts and allowed Bama to open up their offense much more so that they could with Hurts. How will Bama ever lose now with this kid at QB?!

Reading only your post, one could come away with the impression that Rutgers is the dirtier program.

Exactly this. They want to see their son play. You can buy a nice house in Bama for $100K, so you dont need a lot of money to live well.

Where do they move in 3 years. I get it that people can find a way to make this make sense but come on man...It would be more dependent on what the parents do for a living, can the easily just do it from any state and what are their long term plans...Cost of living is only a minor factor. You are also talking moving away from family, heritage etc

Your coach shut us down in what was the worst loss in Bama history IMO because his secondary along with Zeke and Mr. Jones SEC'd us. We got throttled by a "slow" big ten team. That's what we all thought before the game anyway. The point is it starts with culture and challenging the kids. I bet Ash shows his players those Big Ten Championship rings from Wisconsin and tOSU. I bet he shows off that Natty ring too. It takes discipline and unity to get to your goals. Everything is a process. Good things happen when you work hard. I can't wait for the day I come to this board to congratulate Rutgers on winning a big ten championship with Chris Ash so I can say I told you so. So excuse me for a couple of days because well, I f'ing celebrating......Roll F'ing Tide baby!

Lots of car dealerships in Tuscaloosa owned by boosters. Not to mention a certain church in Cam Newton’s hometown magically getting a huge donation to renovate the place.

Also, I wonder if Alabama plays a one-off at Hawaii in a few years. You get a free 13th game when you do so I could see them doing that.

Perhaps moving to be close to their son in college was a long planned move. I am sure they’ve invested greatly in their son to help get him ranked as a #1 QB recruit.

Because I like to torture myself, all I could think about last night was how the best coach in the country had no problem going to an unproven QB IN THE NC GAME to provide a spark but we couldn't pull Laviano once while getting our asses handed to us week after week.
I know it's beating a dead horse but still. Sigh.

It is a shame we had that 5* QB sitting behind Laviano and did not play him.

Great eyes on the last throw, completely looked off and fooled the safety,
yeah.. I did not catch that on the first play.. I thought he just dropped back and threw it as far as he could... ie.. he got lucky. But you're right.. he looked that safety off nicely.. but they did pick on the worst CB.. a guy they'd been picking on the whole game. That CB should never have let up on that... safety help or no... you cannot let that guy pass you... there was plenty of room for a 1st down throw in that route in-between the CB and safety help.

You are not alone.

I looked at my son and said "Saban just yanked a guy who is 25-2 as a starter because he's looking for more of a spark down by 2 scores in the National Championship game. We were down 2 scores AND 7 GAMES and we didn't want to hurt our QB's supposedly fragile psyche."

Honestly, once we concentrate on actually just winning maybe we'll get to where we want to go. Seems to work in other places without the benched player resorting to self mutilation or needing life long mental therapy.
