Man, I hear what you’re saying. But the complete rebuild can either start this year or next year. Either way it’s a complete rebuild. There was never a need for Moorhead to rebuild. He demo’d that *****.

**** man, the whole thread is about us having a ****** coach. You’re exactly right. It’s all on coaching. Our coaches phucking blow. Matt Luke is outcoaching the **** out of Moorhead with way less talent. Here’s your sign.

For us. Firing a coach and hiring a homerun is not that easy. Look at our last coaching search. The best we could come up with was Morris, Pruitt, and Joe. Look at our last baseball search. Everyone thought we were pulling Vandy, Louisville, or TCU coaches. Look what happened when we let Stansbury go. Can’t remember the names but everyone thought we were about to land some up and coming mid major coaches. Hell look at the last basketball search. We lucked into Howland because of Adidas. .

A winning, proven head coach isn’t coming here. We’re taking a retread or a coordinator. I’m not arguing for or against Joe. I’m saying we’re not Alabama and it’s not that easy.

Go ahead and say this is a woah is me lil ol MS State attitude. It’s not. It’s reality.

But... Butt... mediocrity, sunshine pumping, apologist, sheeps say...

And realist, truth-telling, do it now, college football internet savants say...

It's a long way to the end of November.

I call total BS if u think little brother is ahead of us now. Good gracious r u drinking heavily on a Monday night.

Fat Lucus as head coach...that is all that needs to be said on that subject.

They keep running Plumblee between the tackles, he is going to beak a bone and be in street clothes.

That's all on the coaches. If we were well coached, we have the talent to beat Auburn or at least play them close. The unpreparedness and on the field coaching is what Joe sucks at, but he's pretty good (so far) of bringing in highly rated talent at nearly every position other than TE bc Don left us with about 8 TEs.

You gotta remember the Tutorgate 10. That HAS to play into it.
We absolutely do not have the talent Auburn does. Especially on defense.

The “complete rebuild” is happening right now, if you didn’t notice.

I didn’t. What I’ve seen is a demo. There was nothing to rebuild until he tore it all down.

Man forgive me, I respect you. Are you saying Moorhead is rebuilding the mess that Mullen left?

And I'd take our roster over there's any day of the week. They're likely changing coaches this year.

The rebuild is happening because we have no sophomore and junior DTs. The only good senior is suspended. Have you seen our DBs play? There’s a reason so many freshmen are getting minutes.

And I must’ve missed the stacked WR core Mullen left behind also.

A complete rebuild? Other than the coaching staff what would need to be rebuilt? It's only going to need to be rebuilt if we cleaned house and our roster transferred out and our recruiting class went to ****. That is a rebuild.

Bill Clark would probably be a better coach. Hopefully he's at UAB for a long time though...

You would take the roster that struggled with ULL, lost to KSU at home, and blown out by The team you wouldn’t take over ours? Ok budreaux.

Have you seen CJ Morgan play? He’s the slowest DB in the conference and it ain’t close.

I so see everyone’s side but football is a weird game. What you see today may not be what you see in the next game. Look I get we have several games where we have shown some terrible tendencies but I also believe we can step up and finish strong.
No matter what I’m trusting because I’ve seen a few positive bounce backs but I also remember the regressions. I’m rolling positive, probably against many, but I’m not done yet.
At the end of the day we our inconsistent but I trust things get fixed. If not I’m wrong but I still believe we have to hold **** together because the worst case is y’all are right and we have a fractured fan base. We need this team to battle through this or we may well have to start over.

We have the talent to beat them on a good night, but I said we'd likely still lose but we could at least play them close if we were well coached.

I didn't say we were more talented than them. We're obviously not.

What about the unpreparedness to play seemingly every road game and then the resulting personal fouls a few times a game? That's different than depth issues bc of the previous regime's neglect and gambles on grade risks.

I think you're missing what I'm saying. I'm saying we're talented but extremely poorly coached. We're not Auburn talented, but we have some talented players.

Before this season there was talk Erroll, Gay and Kylin could all go pro. 3 early entries means you're pretty talented.

This too. It happens. If it happens here this year, it'll be because Jomo gets better. He has a roster than was capable of going 8-4 if they were well coached.

That’s coaching, not roster problems.

That's exactly what I'm talking about....we have a good roster, but they're horribly coached right now from a mental and preparation standpoint. You hear the term "well oiled machine" when describing a well functioning program. Well were like a GMC Envoy where the owner has forgot to change the oil and it better get oiled up in a hurry or the engine is gonna blow.

Moorehead was very praised and sought after to be a head coach (didn't try to disparage Joe with my post) my point was that MSU can attract good or at least well thought of sought after coaches.

My arguement was against the folks who take the position that we are just little poor MSU and we have to keep whatever coach we can get because we are not good enough to attract another coach of at least equal or better quality.

See we don’t have a great roster. We have players but we also have injuries and then we try playing guys at at a point we hope to win. We are giving credence to guys who cheated and it affects the whole team.
Go to war with guys that did it right. Hard to have faith in each other when you bench a guy when a coach decides it’s a winnable game.
That **** should of never happened. The check with e on O is irritating but the the check with me on suspensions is absolutely horrible

He’s a Bama alum. Huge Bama fan, red elephant club, all that. His parents are huge MSU fans so naturally he likes to see state do well too. We had a nice long conversation on the absurdity that alot of you think that a coach wouldn’t come here because we fired ****** joe Moorhead after two years. Are y’all smoking crack? Do you know how coaches brains work?

And others of you are assuming things you shouldn’t. Like that it’s a given that we win another game. Like I said earlier and got blasted for, we just don’t know how bad we are yet. Don’t assume anything. If we go 4-8 or even a win better, he should most definitely be fired. But where I agree with y’all is that he won’t. And if he isn’t, we are finished for a long long time. The atmosphere that has been football saturdays for a lot of us will be over. We’ve been spoiled for a long time. This could be the end. Everything working out in the end may not be the result.

Didn’t get much past the part about your cousin being a huge, red elephant, Bama fan. Because I’m not sure how that has anything whatsoever to do with the current state of the MSU football program.

There's some holes for sure, but I think it's mainly because the old staff took too many grade risks and undersigned in general. There's a ton of youth on our defense. We're playing Jarrian Jones, Martin Emerson and Tyler Williams a lot of snaps at corner. 2 true freshman and 1 soph. Emerson blew that coverage on the weave (I think it's called that) route that led to a wide open TD for Auburn. Youth problems. DT has already been discussed. Zero soph or Jrs. We're playing like 6 freshman and the suspension of Autry. Gay has been suspended as well as has Marcus Murphy who would probably have taken CJ's starting spot.

This team is no where near full strength with 10 guys suspended mainly on defense with true game breakers out. Imagine if Joe wouldn't have gotten Shrader. Holy ****.

How long does it usually take someone to fire you?

But seriously, you thought OM and Auburn had already played each other this year, and I’m supposed to believe you have a clue what you’re talking about comparing OM and State?

And Bama fans, you’re cousin included, don’t know anymore than any other SEC fan base. I’d argue a majority of them know less.

Bama hired Mike Shula and their other finalist was Croom. Hiring a good coach is probably about a 50/50 shot unless you go hire Saban or Urban.

You do realize Cohen offered Mullen more to stay than Florida is paying Mullen? We outbid the Gators and the dude recognized a better chance to win a NC at UF and took less money.

We will always have roster issues though. We simply can't recruit like a Bama or Auburn and have that kind of depth. Our current roster issues are not to the point that it would cause the clown show we've seen.
