For us. Firing a coach and hiring a homerun is not that easy. Look at our last coaching search. The best we could come up with was Morris, Pruitt, and Joe. Look at our last baseball search. Everyone thought we were pulling Vandy, Louisville, or TCU coaches. Look what happened when we let Stansbury go. Can’t remember the names but everyone thought we were about to land some up and coming mid major coaches. Hell look at the last basketball search. We lucked into Howland because of Adidas. .
A winning, proven head coach isn’t coming here. We’re taking a retread or a coordinator. I’m not arguing for or against Joe. I’m saying we’re not Alabama and it’s not that easy.
Go ahead and say this is a woah is me lil ol MS State attitude. It’s not. It’s reality.
We absolutely do not have the talent Auburn does. Especially on defense. That's all on the coaches. If we were well coached, we have the talent to beat Auburn or at least play them close. The unpreparedness and on the field coaching is what Joe sucks at, but he's pretty good (so far) of bringing in highly rated talent at nearly every position other than TE bc Don left us with about 8 TEs.
You gotta remember the Tutorgate 10. That HAS to play into it.
Man, I hear what you’re saying. But the complete rebuild can either start this year or next year. Either way it’s a complete rebuild. There was never a need for Moorhead to rebuild. He demo’d that *****.
Dude. We just got our **** pushed in by a team they held to a two touchdown win. Not to mention they are going to beat us this year. I promise.
I didn’t. What I’ve seen is a demo. There was nothing to rebuild until he tore it all down.
You would take the roster that struggled with ULL, lost to KSU at home, and blown out by The team you wouldn’t take over ours? Ok budreaux. And I'd take our roster over there's any day of the week. They're likely changing coaches this year.
What about the unpreparedness to play seemingly every road game and then the resulting personal fouls a few times a game? That's different than depth issues bc of the previous regime's neglect and gambles on grade risks.
That's exactly what I'm talking about....we have a good roster, but they're horribly coached right now from a mental and preparation standpoint. You hear the term "well oiled machine" when describing a well functioning program. Well were like a GMC Envoy where the owner has forgot to change the oil and it better get oiled up in a hurry or the engine is gonna blow.
He’s a Bama alum. Huge Bama fan, red elephant club, all that. His parents are huge MSU fans so naturally he likes to see state do well too. We had a nice long conversation on the absurdity that alot of you think that a coach wouldn’t come here because we fired ****** joe Moorhead after two years. Are y’all smoking crack? Do you know how coaches brains work?
And others of you are assuming things you shouldn’t. Like that it’s a given that we win another game. Like I said earlier and got blasted for, we just don’t know how bad we are yet. Don’t assume anything. If we go 4-8 or even a win better, he should most definitely be fired. But where I agree with y’all is that he won’t. And if he isn’t, we are finished for a long long time. The atmosphere that has been football saturdays for a lot of us will be over. We’ve been spoiled for a long time. This could be the end. Everything working out in the end may not be the result.
Didn’t get much past the part about your cousin being a huge, red elephant, Bama fan. Because I’m not sure how that has anything whatsoever to do with the current state of the MSU football program.
But seriously, you thought OM and Auburn had already played each other this year, and I’m supposed to believe you have a clue what you’re talking about comparing OM and State?.
Pretty obvious you don’t understand a lot of things. Have your vans cousin explain it to youWell go ahead and schedule it. He sucks. Didn’t realize there was a mandatory waiting period on firing a complete loser
There may be coaching problems. But there’s issues on the roster 100%.
