i'm glad they're making them take it down because screw those guys, but the ncaa doesn't own the arena they play in. how can they make them take it down if it's not on ncaa owned property?

I would say that 1) the NCAA owns the rights to the banner, trophy, and any facsimile thereof; and 2) as a member institution, u6 agreed to abide by all rules/bylaws/regulations of the NCAA.

Now, Cal's 500-win ball, I'm not sure about that one.

i'm ignorant to all this so i'm really not trying to be an ***, but what stops them from making the exact same banner minus the ncaa logo and hanging one back up?

Because they are a voluntary member of the NCAA and agree to do what they are told. They are free to drop down to the NAIA and rehang the banner and the NCAA can’t do **** I suppose.

But why deliberately piss off someone who just disciplined you when you know more punishment is coming over the Bowen thing.

I suppose he just wants his say, but he would be better off just keeping quiet, everything he says just puts him under further scrutiny. Basketball is his life nothing else matters and now he has a black mark set against him, and he is really struggling with that.

I'm thinking he meant unconscionable and misspoke, but he's been spending plenty of time with his attorneys at Greenberg and Traurig, so maybe they came up with a new line to extract more $$$ from him.

I've been as critical of Pitino as anyone, but damned if he ain't right about this: Not everyone is aware of the somewhat obscure 69th Amendment, passed in secret in the mid-1990s after a bi-partisan meeting between Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich:

AMENDMENT LXIX: No organization, body, or collection of individuals shall infringe on the unalienable rights of American citizens to party with prostitutes, bang loose women on restaurant tables for periods of time up to or exceeding 15 seconds, supply said women with 'health insurance' in the form of pregnancy termination, treat juvenile associates to lap dances or transfer currency in increments up to $100,000 in shoe boxes or other conveyances to secure the services of young persons rated in various fields of endeavor at a level of 5 stars.

Oh that crazy amendment #28 . The freedom to receive wet hummers and to use the shocker without fear of reprisals.

How can someone become so tone deaf and have such little self awareness??

It amazes me in the last few years that someone he trusts and respects hasn't told him he needs to stfu!!

Because above all else he is an enormous ego maniac. How can someone who loves himself so much continue to make themselves a laughing stock??

The only answer is you have to become delusional. I mean he must think that people believe him. Amazing how far out of touch this douche bag has become

They play in the ncaa's league and the games thet play in their arena are ncaa games, so if they want to play in ncaa sanctioned games they'll take it down

Check out @KySportsRadio’s Tweet:

As bad as I dislike Louisville, I agree with Pitino. UNC cheats got away with the largest academic scandal in American history and nothing done to them, if I was Louisville or any other school that had or has to vacate wins, I would be pissed!
