Syracuse Game

Not sure when it would get moved....We wont get back from Atlanta until late Thursday and the weather moves in Saturday. We already have a 3 game week the following week and already had our 1 game week last week.
Syracuse will arrive in NC safely and in plenty of time. Don’t think that moving up is an option- that would involve both of us flying to NC late Thursday/early Friday and we wouldn’t play Saturday.
the two options I see:
1) play it normal on Sunday only happens if we get Cuse and officials staying on campus by Saturday evening. Carolina inn? There will be no traveling with weather that bad at all Sunday. Keeping them .8 miles away from the arena gives them an excellent chance to play. Obviously, probably no regular fans. Doors open to students- which might would actually be an excellent turnout. Opportunity to come inside and warm up from playing in the ice.
2) Postpone to Monday: 40 and 54 should hopefully be manageable by Monday afternoon. No falling precipitation, etc. probably still mainly students. We aren’t going to be able to make a normal hour drive Monday either personally.

UNC just released an email alert that the game is still scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday. I personally consider this to be irresponsible as it will encourage some people to do something dangerous like trying to get to the game. If we get the .5” or more of ice that is predicted all traffic including air will be next to impossible. Even walking.

The men are playing on Saturday across the ACC. There would not be any tv coverage for the women if they did that. It is all about the money and the ratings.
So we play to an essentially empty gym on Sunday - the weather related equivalent of playing in that cavernous dome in Syracuse. Wonder if we have a generator to provide power in case we are without it? Sadly, we live far enough out of town that if we get the predicted amount of ice it will probably not be safe for us to attempt to attend.
Hopefully a lot of students walk over from their dorms.

On the men side, they did. The VA game move to 12 noon. Our men came back and won it at VA. They were down by 9 at halftime. I agree the fans must show up since they can walk over to the gym. People who drive and live off campus may not be able to make it as someone had stated. This is a must game. Syracuse is going to be tough. They are veteran team and they have veteran players who were the leading scores at other schools last year. They have the freshmen big that is a natural shot blocker. I hope when are practicing how to pump fake and draw a foul.
The Carmichael staff was probably too lazy to have to retrofit the arena after the gymnastics meet last night.
For the record, the wolpfack and dook games were on the road.
I enjoyed that immensely myself!
I had Matt Krause on the Varsity app and really enjoyed listening to him. He was a little bit “salty” toward the Cuse and their coach.
I always enjoy listening to Matt as well; my Varsity app kept on shutting itself off today for no apparent reason and Chapelboro.com was so far ahead of the TV broadcast that they didn't match up well.
