Most colleges are OK if applicants don't send in their SAT/ACT scores. You're nuts if you think that's true.
They had five players out last night and still played. As long as there’s no outbreak which doesn’t seem like there is game should go on

This is bad.
I jumped the gun...thought it was 5 positives...my badWhy is this bad? If more test positive it’s bad
I think there will be more spots. NCAA can’t punish teams for taking necessary precautions and reward those for taking risk.
68 teams is not a given this year. Small conference participation is not a given.
I said in another post the concept of scrapping conference tournaments. I think that possibility is real.
You are in the distinct minority thinking that a team currently in the top 25 is one of the last eight in the field as the BEST CASE scenario. To me, best case scenario is we are top 4 in the B1G regular season (13+ wins in league) and looking for a #4 seed. 8-2 at home, 5-5 on the road, undefeated OOC.I think best case we are one of the last 8 in the field. I think I the worrying is warranted, but just surprised
Hey, we will see . Once in a while I am wrong .You are in the distinct minority thinking that a team currently in the top 25 is one of the last eight in the field as the BEST CASE scenario. I drink the Kool-Aid.Hey, we will see . Once in a while I am wrong .
There is a chance Harper is here in 2023.I drink the Kool-Aid.
I am more concerned about our program in two years once Baker and Harper move on. The freshmen and just-signed recruits look very promising but they need to be ready for major roles.

That's why it makes sense to play them at FDU this month.
Play at The Rock next season
Doubt that will happen. SHU is welcome to cancel the game this year or move their game to a neutral location, but that doesn't mean they get to host next year instead. If they beg off this year and don't want to play at the RAC in 2021, they'd likely have to beg off next year as well.
RU/SHU will either find a neutral site for this year and next, or more likely not play this year or next. It sucks, but Rutgers can't force SHU to play this year if they don't want to - and isn't willing to give up next year's home game because SHU decided to cancel this year's game.
Isnt there 1 ACC team not playing the challenge? Maybe swap out Cuse for that team?

five players out of a basketball game is huge....... it is a severe disadvantage playing against a decent team..... you have to imagine RU playing a top 20 team with 5 guys out, and not just the bottom five.....it would be tough
The SU game is part of the Challenge so the 15th ACC team should come to the RAC in SU's place if they have to cancel.
Depends on who the five players are. Cuse isn’t known to play a deep rotation.
Rutgers is really going kick itself for not scheduling any games this week if Tuesday’s game against Cuse is cancelled. My hunch is that it might be in jeopardy now. Darn.
Didn't Boeheim have Covid already?What?
He’s 76 years old and a coaching legend.
WTF does spending the game last night with his mask mean?
Not concerned about the OOC record, as Rutgers will be judged by results from in-conference of which it will meet up with a number of ranked opponents.
What concerns me is having the team sit out over 2 weeks prior to playing its Big 10 schedule, if and only if the Syracuse game is cancelled. I'm curious why Rutgers was not able to schedule a game for late this week when opponents were available and at least one, in Notre Dame, even said they would travel.
I also think playing 3 cream puffs prior to the Conference games provides false confidence and lacks an opponent with talent to push the team in potentially uncomfortable situations. I'd rather the team lose a game or 2 to equally talented OOC foes and learn from the loss, instead of beating up on lesser talent without facing any adversity. But that's just me.
The people continuing to say OOC as if it's different from in league schedules, clearly never paid any attention to anything in the last 2 to 3 years.
The metric is entire schedule, not OOC vs B1G.....there is no such thing as anything other than the ENTIRE strength of schedule.
The only reason OOC schedules keep getting brought up incorrectly and inaccurately is because 4 years ago, the B1G only got 4 teams in the tournament and some teams like Nebraska went 12 -6 in the B1G and didn't make the NCAAs.
The reason Nebraska didn't make it, despite a very good B1G record was because the B1G was not a quality league that season.
So playing Cuse with a potential outbreak or SHU, who already had an outbreak, doesn't help RU on overall strength of schedule.
For anyone that thinks a 9 win 11 loss B1G team isn't making the NCAAs is also crazy as well. The league is first in strength of schedule as of today.
Instead of repeating wrong or old or inaccurate items from 5 or 10 years ago, it is best to join 2020-21 and use what is being actually watched today and this season.
RU isn't going to benefit by playing a Chicago State (Northwestern) or Alabama A&M (Ohio State). I don't understand this anymore than any other fan, but I am going to ask a lot of questions if Ohio State doesn't or can't play RU in 3 weeks, because they decided to play some team ranked in the 320 to 350 range, just to say they're 16-10 overall vs possibly missing B1G games and wind up being 13-8 overall.
It’ll be played unless the world has ended.I wonder what this forum will look like when or if the NCAAT is 86ed
Did you watch games last year...do you look at standings...obviously notI will bet that a 9-11 or 10-10 Big Ten team (or with covid, 8-9 or 9-9) misses the tournament this year.
I agree with you, but is wasn’t too long ago, 2017-18 where a bunch of team were at .500 and above and didn’t dance.Did you watch games last year...do you look at standings...obviously not
The powers that be will be thrilled just to actually complete the season.
There's a reason they're granting an extra year of eligibility for winter
athletes. They know it'll be a miracle if they have a somewhat normal
conclusion to this season at all. As long as the vaccines work in some
comprehensive way, next year should be super. We'll be back at the RAC. Something to look forward to.
In general, I would normally totally agree with your thinking. BUT, I think it is important psychologically for our team that we are still now in the top 25 and will be when starting the Big Ten Schedule.
At the end of the day, what we do all through the season, will make the impact towards the NCAA tourney, but I don't want our psyche to take a shot right now. Yes, there is a slight risk of the "false confidence", but I think our coach will keep us grounded and focused
Sure, I have yelled for years that we need to get into the Maui tourney or one like it and play 3 tough games in 3 days.
Best of Luck,
Groz

This year they may take both. It would t shock me if OOC games weren’t even used by the committee this year.
