That's apparently the morning's hot rumor, for 6 years. If you wondered (as I did) about the terms of how a new job impacts his current buyout, he owes UT half his new salary during the remaining term (2 years) of his deal.

Meanwhile, Luke Fickell's annual deal at UC is being reported locally as "in the same ballpark"
as the $2.2 million/season they were paying Tommy Tuberville. Will be curious to see how Strong's new deal compares; I assume he'll make MORE, though I'm not altogether sure USF football is in a more favorable financial position than UC.

But his getting back to Florida DOES make sense; if he can succeed at USF, it puts him in a good position when Florida eventually decides their current guy is ready to be ejected. And the same can be said about Fickell, especially if Meyer decides he's ready to hang it up in Columbus in a few years.

Agreed. Good moves for both. More pressure on Strong since his HC experience is more recent and USF had a good season last year.

I've always been a UCF to B12 guy, but if Strong can continue the momentum there then USF has a chance. Literally they are the only program on the West coast of Florida.

Finkell absolutely sees himself back at OSU. I still say OSU would shoot for Herman if he thrives at UT.

That makes sense cause he recruited FL very well. That guy can win there. It's not like in the AAC you play a murderers row schedule where every week your team has a o be ready to play their best and win.

I wonder if TX still has to pay the $10+ Million they owe him for firing him if he takes another HC position.

Try re-readng the first paragraph of my OP......

You can say that all you choose.....and I don't know Herman any better than you do.....but nothing I myself have read thus far would indicate to me Herman has anymore interest in OSU than Texas. Meanwhile, it's my opinion he can accomplish absolutely everything he wants to accomplish in Austin.

Fickell won't be the guy at OSU
