How many you were around campus when we had streakers, male and female?
and it was a sport.......a race
Flagpole Flop.
I ran the Flop in '85. Sessums-around the pole on the drill field-and back. Survived the eggs, campus police, and under-sexed Phi Mu's. My roommate won. I bailed out and cut thru Hilbun to avoid "the gauntlet" back to the front door of Sessums.
I was a freshman in '88 and was working dispatch at the Campus Security/Police Department during the Flop. Pure gold over the radio that night. One of the officers that night was female (I *think* she was the only female officer we had at the time other than Capt. Lindley) and she and the other officers on duty were laughing at the streakers and making jokes. They weren't interested in arresting anyone. That's one of the moments at MSU that I will always remember.I ran it in '88. Sadly, I didn't win..

If I recall correctly, the tradition was that on the first night it dropped below freezing during the fall term, the men of Sessums would streak to the flagpole on the drill field. There were females at the flag (residents of McKee, maybe?) that would stamp a hand or provide some other evidence of making it there before the men would run back to Sessums. That sound about right?
and having streakers dart out. Hell of a time.
When was the last time there was a panty raid on campus?
Times have changed....
I grew up on Morgan/ Magruder Ave. and we would go to the trifecta of Girls dorms at that time to watch the streakers run in front of Cresswell and Hawthorn Hall. I think it was the early 70's, and life was awesome!
