Well, a 10 on Perfect Game which is about the same as a 5*. Jett Williams class of 2022 out of Heath, TX. Someone on the other board said he was the best hitter in TX in his class.

He opened his recruitment back up after A&M made a coaching change. Chose us over ark, tenn, Ariz. St., and others.

Recruiting seems to have made a noticeable uptick since winning it all a couple of months ago.

Really hate to ask this, but what is his projected draft position?

He is listed as a SS/OF. Haven’t seen where he is ranked, maybe someone with a PG subscription can look. The thing to watch for with Williams is his height, only being 5’8”, will probably not help his draft status. I haven’t seen too many details about him, other than PG mentions that he is a good student.

I could be totally off base here, but if I were definitely set on going pro, I would probably just stay with my original commitment regardless of coach. The fact that he visited several other schools and went thru the process a second time would indicate that he is pretty seriously considering going to school and isn’t a lock for the pro’s.

At the end of the day, I think his height will be an issue for the pros. If he gets it done in the SEC, that will help him.

Those are the guys you’re lucky to get on campus. Hopefully the NIL situation can help.

Baseball America has him at #45 out of 50 on the high school draft list. That would put him somewhere in first four rounds probably. Our only other commit on list is Dakota Jordan at #35.

For comparison, Vanderbilt still has an absurd 7 commits out of the top 30. If NIL will level the playing field, it has not happened yet.
