Well I am a bit cranky after watching the last 2 games and listening to Campbell's PC.
I've never been on another board and have never had another user name, since I haven't been banned like Chumbo.
Why they let him pollute this board is anyones guess.
To that point though I have been here for a very, very long time and and do remember those 2 pitt clowns.

Don't have the link but on the 7 mountains podcast today Jones said he talked to Campbell and the staff said everything is fixable.

I trust Jones maybe more than anyone so I consider this good news.

Goodman is the left tackle, Clanton is the o-line coach who should've caught it. It's basic stuff like this, hand placement, tipping with your stance, etc. when you self-scout. T Frank of On3 mentioned it in a video earlier this week and everyone else picked up on it. For a staff that was supposed to be "all football" and not into the drama stuff, they sure are missing on basic things.

I for one have never hated Franklin and don't hate him now. I at one time was one of his biggest supporters. But I have lost a lot of respect for the man.

Ninety percent of the things that have been said about Franklins departure are true and that's the problem I have with him. I do think Kraft botched the way PS parted ways with Franklin and the search process, so Kraft is fair game.

Framklin was not a great recruiter, but he could it seems find those diamonds in the rough and I think did so consistently. He was not a great coach and certainly not a great game day coach but IMO he was a good coach and produced what good coaches produce.

After arriving at PS his ability to hire good coaches was not good. He was given the money to get and retain it just seems in more cases than one he hired the wrong people. Some of the problem seemed to be that his first choices either didn't want to work at PS or for him. He brought some good stable people with him but their own reasons moved on.

College coaching in these most recent times is exponentially more difficult due to the modern culture of college football, money money money.

It's way to early to judge Campbell be any fair measure. Lots of bends and curves in the road this fanbase is going to travel this year. Who and what do we fairly compare him to. Indiana, UCLA, VO Tech and Franklins new Puff League where an average coach can look like a super star for a while

So where are we really. Well, IMO we have gone from a guy who looked and acted a lot like a Used Car Salesman to a straight-shooting fellow who might be a little in over his head for now but has his priorities straight and has the right attitude and culture to build something big long term. I'm willing to wait it out.

IMO for our football team to be in the top 5 the program needs a cargo ship full of money that isn't coming.

As for all you Trolls and cliff jumpers take a seat and draw a deep breath because neither of you are going to get what you want and all you're doing is making yourselves miserable.

PSU had 65 scholarships when Franklin arrived. He won the Big 10 title in year 3.
Campbell is off to a good start. 2 conference games. In 1 he blew a 17 point lead with terrible in game management. In the next he produced one of the worst performances by a Penn State team in 60 years.

The fact that a new HC doesn't even get half a season anymore is a joke. I have zero idea on how it will turn out, but I do know that roster lost 46 players from last year and there is a clear talent issue at some key spots on the field. This season is a wash and if he can squeak out 7-8 wins (to me 6 is really possible right now and not in a good way), make some noise in the portal and bring in some frosh that can sprinkle in some life....maybe they take a step next year. It's hard to win in the B1G with a blah RB room, blah DE rotation, blah DT play, no LB depth, and a QB that gets 5 passes a game swatted down.

Then you have BOT/ex BOT trolls who seem to think their only job is to manipulate the program they way they want it...I mean the way they think Joe wanted it. When people say the BoT is a joke which it is, those clowns in terms of running interference may be worse than those they opposed initially...which is pretty GD sad.

MC brought his team from ISU. They aren't newcomers. QB, RB WR, TE and OC all have worked together before. The real turnaround will be after this season.

Year 3 he has Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, USC and Iowa. This is the year he needs to win. Lots of "teams without a pulse" on this years schedule.

How is it that Chesney has UCLA not-only competitive, but has turned them around in year 1. Ditto Franklin an VoTech..... Then of course you had what Cignetti has done at Indiana. This utter nonsense that it takes 3 years to make PSU even marginally competitive (when they were already consistently competitive and a national contender with the top of the b1g under Franklin) with a larger NIL budget than Franklin ever had is just such ridiculous nonsense and bs, it isn't even funny. Clearly, this is what Krafty The Clownboy promised us with his "Championship Football"..... and "Excellence at the highest level"........ [insert eyeroll - zero accountability for Kraft who deserves to be making minimum wage rather than the multi-millions he's pulling down, but Kraft is going to hold the 2nd Winningest Coach in PSU history "accountable" via firing??? Chesney was the appropriate coach to select but Kraft's ego got the best of him thinking he would bring in a top 5 coach... We'll be paying for that failed decisions for years to come as UCLA is yet another program that surpasses us. The program is off the rails and not until Kraft is out of the picture will it improve because he will never admit he F-ed this up!

Well Franklin won at a stop where no one else had succeeded. Campbell had about the same reputation. But somehow the fanboys here insisted that better results were guaranteed. Campbell is a better talent evaluator; Campbell is a better in game coach. Campbell makes love to the Lettermen, Campbell wears white shoelaces, he wears at hat, he doesn't lead the team out of the huddle......LOL
