This could have serious ramifications tonight. A lot of UCLA players have to be wondering about their own future with the program.

Welsh and Holiday and a few other better than average players will return (assuming Leaf and ball declare). But UCLA has #2 class coming in, including another Ball. UCLA likely will be ranked top 10 if not top 5 to start the season. Alford must REALLY want to coach at IU as he not only had a stellar year this year (even if he losses, hopefully tonight) but he has a top class coming in, and as crazy as the Dad is, a supply of Balls.....(sounds so odd)....So he is set up to be a top team at one of the most storied schools....

This is no distraction to UCLA. They lose 5 of their top 7 players regardless. If anything, they may play together as a last horah.

Ah ****. Watch this be a freaking tactic.

"Guys, I'm leaving.. But I want us to complete one last goal, what we've been practicing for all season.."

"To Win the title!"

"Nope.. to beat KENTUCKY. Saturday morning I'll be packing up my office.. Find me on Linked in"

Steve Alford is no John Wooden.

The best joke would be for Alford to say he was coming and then change his mind. IU had their chance at Alford 3 different times. The scary part is if IU actually gets a coach there.
Like them or not, they are still viewed as a premier program. The question becomes, do the kids still them as a destination.

The other 2 Balls don't mean dick. If Alford wants the IU job, ever, he's gone.

Secret verbal. Don't y'all be spoiling his last game at UCLA! Who would do such a thing?! I hope it gets maximum play on TV during the game. And then Glass can't keep quiet, UCLA loses, Alford gets upset and renegs.

No way would I bail on UCLA for Indiana. Better weather and easier to recruit. Indiana has sucked since 2002.At least UCLA has found success in the past decade.

Ha ha ha...Alford won't have the recruiting draw of southern california to rest on - Cal will continue to
dominate the top tier talent in the Indbred state and they know it. [laughing]

Its amazing that 2 years ago when UK held them to 7 points in the 1st half his seat was hotter than hades and now he has his choice of 2 of the top 6-8 programs of all time. UCLA has the most wins but outside of the Wooden era have been up and down. IU has been the same post Knight.

As a side note that first half was the most dominate defensive show I have ever witnessed in college basketball.

I wouldn't believe Alford leaving a top school like UCLA for IU, but after considering the fact that his seat as UCLA's coach has been warming up the last few years, the dude may actually decide to leave a better situation at UCLA and head home to IU and miss the tourney the next few years as IU coach. If he was in no danger the last couple of years as UCLA coach of being fired, i don't think he leaves. I don't really consider the Ball kids coming in to be something to be proud of and can't leave over. The current Ball is the ony elite player from the three. Pay no attention to their dad. That dude couldn't believe most of what he says himself. It's so funny that it has come to the point of IU wanting to hire Alford as their coach. For the last 10 years, i have read post after post from IU fans hating on Alford and never wanting the dude near their program. Too bad. It looks like Steve is coming home. Get used to it IU fans!
