I am not surprised that we will not get a formal answer before Sunday's game. No reason to let Painter know what to expect before game day.

“Day to day” sounds promising.
Its a statement that repeats what is already known but fails to say the severity of the injury and what the treatment will be.Its deliberately vague to make Purdue wondering if Harper will play.

Keep Purdue guessing which is great but I highly expect to see our senior team leader to be on the court Sunday.

I called Coach Schiano last night to check in on Ron's status. His response was vague, all he said was "Well... he's got a hand." I felt blessed that he threw in the "Well..."

Usually not especially with HIPPA remember every football injury is either lower body or upper body with no timetable ever mentioned
I don't get the whole HIPPA thing.

We hear all the time in sports, player has a sprained ankle or a torn rotator cuff or a strained calf or whatever.

I thought HIPPA was not really in play when it comes to sports unless its like something odd

HIPAA... You work in Healthcare unless the screen name isn't true... come on bud

These injury updates being vague isn't bc of HIPAA. It's about teams trying to gain a competitive advantage by limiting the opposition's knowledge for preparation.

Whenever there is a serious injury and surgery etc that information is always shared so it's not about privacy. Players aren't getting secret ACL surgeries and saying it's a leg injury

"He has a hand, I don't have much detail other than that. We'll have to evaluate it and if he can go, he'll go"

I don’t recall coaches or universities ever going into specifics about a players injury, surgery or recovery though.

They get a competitive advantage by being vague but I think it is also about HIPAA.

I just don’t recall formal press release from Rutgers about a players injury, usually the coach is left to answer reporters and give a general answer.
