No. I say that because he isn't going anywhere and never will. I have always thought Indiana was pathetic for bringing up his name. Now shamefully, some of our idiot fans are doing the same.
First off, you shoot for the stars. This is UK basketball. Is it likely he comes, of course he won't. But if you dont try, you never know. You always try.

Ooh, Arizona is averaging 87.5pts/game. That sounds fun! It may not be "efficient" enough for others on this board though.
I like Lloyd, too, but AZ is down 10 at the half at home right now, having scored only 27 points. They are playing Wash State.

Ewww. Admittedly, I don't know much about him. I'm just looking for anything that actually makes watching UK hoops fun again.

The real UK BIG BUCK people that truly care about our program need to get Dwane Casey even if it is only an interim to get things back on track. We have to have someone who is one of us that can bring everybody back together with NBA connections (secondarily). Yes Dwayne is in his 60s but he is a fit young 60s. He is respected in the family, he took the fall and was later cleared like we knew he’d be…today’s kids respect him…He is the facilitator of us getting back to where we want to be

I remember Cal setting a goal of 80ppg this season. We're going to have to play like Loyola Marymount of the late 80's to reach that now.

Oh my god people need to stfu about Brad Stevens.
Agreed. There is NO WAY Brad Stevens gives a nice, comfy, LOW STRESS job in the NBA to come coach at UK. It's silly to even think along those lines.
Now, if you want to talk about Scott Drew and Tommy Lloyd as top potential candidates #1 and #2....that's more realistic.

I love DC but, much like Stevens why would he walk away from a respected position in the NBA to herd cats in a high stress job like UK? Just don't see it.
For me it's Drew or Lloyd.

A Mark Few assistant, first head coaching gig was Arizona. That's a pretty big first head-coaching stop and he's doing really well. Might have to trade a little defense to get some more offense. But, the bottom line is winning and he's doing that. Did a lot of international recruiting. What the hell. I'm in. Let's get him! I'll make some calls.

Because he played here. He is a national champion. He greatly cares about his school and program. Secondarily, he knows the NBA. Stevens has NO connection to us. He has no reason to come here.

I don't know DC personally. Never met him in fact. But, I have to wonder about his true feelings for the program that allowed him to be scapegoated and essentially blackballed in college athletics for a time. I know he was eventually (and rightfully) cleared but, the damage may have been done.
Does DC even come back for reunions or special UK basketball ceremonies? I honestly don't know but, whether he does or doesn't might reveal his feelings about the program.
Even if DC does care about the program I doubt he would want to start hitting the road recruiting now that he is in his 60's. I could be wrong though.

Agree completely on Stevens.

Holtman would worry me. I liked Tubby but I believe Holtmann would be Tubby after the title. Looking at things now we all would take that I bet Though.

I don’t see Drew being a good fit but who knows. Haven’t watched Loyd enough to say. Donovan and Stevens highly unlikely. Calipari needs to walk but I’m not excited about ANY of the options that get tossed around on here. Mediocre at best.

Donovan is as laughable as Stevens. Stevens is not going to leave a GM job in Boston to move to Lexington, KY and jump out on the recruiting trail. Same with Billy. Why would he leave a head coaching NBA job in Chicago for Lexington? We are going to outbid Reinsdorf? Yea...
