St. Peter’s is ***.

You guys rooting for this have absolutely no clue how bad it is for us.
For the record, I grew up around Rutgers basketball. My hate for SHU is on the same level as Penn State.

Halloway would 110% make me consider playing for SHU if I were a recruit. Really sucks, but it’s the truth.

I guess we prefer under the radar guys though, so maybe it doesn’t matter.

I don’t get it. I’ve been there. I did a job with my buddy when I was out of work during CoVID and it was literally right outside the campus. Nothing special and zero academic standards for sure based on the student body that we saw coming in and out lol. How the F do they recruit outside of ‘graded don’t matter.” The SEC already does that.
Wow. Jealous are ya? Loser!

Wow people are just miserable. St. Peter’s is writing the greatest NCAA tournament Cinderella story in history and the OP has to crap on their campus?! Really?!

Really bad look OP.
Oh please. A little dramatic are we ? A lower seed has neve made the elite 8 before ? I seem to recall this happening quite a bit. Maybe not a #15 but low seed nonetheless.

You should ditch the snobbery. The school has a noble mission. It’s facilities don’t define them.

Wondering if the attitude would be the same if this was Monmouth or Rider winning all of these games?

This is probably one of the best stories in NCAA tournament history and people here are taking a dump on it. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Only in NJ.

Free publicity. Their enrollment will pop big time. They’ll. Attract better students. I don’t know how much it will be worth but it will be a lot.
Very true. When Seton Hall lost in the finals, the average SAT scores of their applicants increased by more than 100 points the next year.

Hmm, funny how people see the same thing completely different.

You see unintelligent kids in this post & I see a racist. ( It was pointed out that it was more likely class snobbery than race).

My point, You cannot see someone's talent or ability just by what they wear or can afford.

Want to feel miserable? Know that St. Peter's has beaten us last two times we've played them. Last time by 18 points at home. 3-3 record since 2007.
Yea we all know who was coaching then but we also know who we lost to this year.
Everyone having orgasms just making the tourney. THIS is how you make some noise. Good for them and New Jersey.

Lets see..he is heading to coach our rival and played for this rival during a bitter time in the 90s between the 2 schools

Thus enormous amount of attention will be paid to said rival as coach is fawned over

Im Rutgers first

In fairness to that poster it’s a mixed student body so probably more class snobbery than racism
My point was that it’s implied in that post that who ever goes to St Peters ain’t 💩 and worthless. I got friends, family, and former students who went/ goes there. That that attitude and shove it.

Were they this good last yearthey this good all this season? Will they be this good next year? I doubt it. But the only thing that matters is they are playing great right now. My point was they did not necessarily out recruit anyone but got a collection of guys that clicked at the right time.
They had more wins than us right.
It's not lightning they are outplaying everyone and taking them out of their games.
They made Edey, Ivey and William's look like garbage. I give them a ton of credit. If they hit half of their wide open 3's and short puppies they would have won that game by 20

The name of this tournament is to catch lightning in a bottle at the right time. They may be 💩 but they did their jobs so far.

Man some people act like Rutgers is some kind of paradise
Memo - significant parts of the campus are ugly, outdated and don't match
None of it connects together like a "true" college campus
Parts of New Brunswick, though improved, do indeed suck
JC is definitely worse by NB, but let's stop acting like we're comparing Compton to Malibu

Too bad for Holloway the SEC filled all 6 openings. Don't know if he'd have been interested but there's little doubt they could have easily outbid SHU by a lot for his services.

Facts

No 16 seed has ever made an elite 8
Until St. Peter’s, no 15 seed has ever made an elite 8
No 14 seed has ever made an elite 8
No 13 seed has ever made an elite 8
Two number 12 seeds has made an elite 8

And one of the 12 seeds that did was Oregon state from the pac 12 last year (the other was Missouri in 2012)

So While we have had butler, Wichita state , Loyola of Chicago , and George mason fron outside of the power six confrences make the final four …they all were schools with higher seeds and much better confrcness

The closest thing that we can come up with to St. Peter’s run was Penn in 1979 …they did win four games to get to the final four when the NCAA was 40 teams …

St. Peter’s is A school in NJ.

Rutgers IS the school from NJ.

Good for them but like Sarah in Football (and overall) I don’t really care what they do. Really doesn’t matter. What matters is what WE do. But it’s a great story and I hope they keep winning.

I don’t see how this follows at all.
Jesuits used to be about academics and discipline. Now not so much so . St.Peters was a good school IF you were there for learning . I’m happy for them and those players as they move onto Saturday ‘s game. Once Holloway moves into his next job the issue will be his replacement. Shaheen is a Seton Hall guy and it’s good for them. Pike needs to pick it up recruiting wise and I am going to believe he will.

St. Peter’s is a cool story but the comments by some of our fans are really weird. They don’t have better players or even a better team. They certainly didn’t have a better regular season. And, once Halloway leaves as soon as they lose St. Peter’s will go back to being what it was. A complete afterthought. So, rather than using it to crap on RU (why our “fans” would want to do that is beyond me) just take it for what it is — a once in a lifetime run that has nothing do with RU and is no more relevant to us than the other 60 teams who aren’t playing anymore either.

We just gave one of our best coaches ever a huge extension . If we are that worried about seton hall, Holloway, and what St. Peter’s is doing this week ,we have much bigger problems .
