Are you serious? He's like 75. You don't take over High School programs at 75. Before you bring up older professional coaches their job comes with a lot more resources at their disposal and 8 more zeros in their pay checks.
Definitely not Coach Frank. I have heard a few rumors but nothing reliable. I think we will know more in the coming weeks. Time will tell.
Honest question: What meaningful decisions were any previous StL coaches not allowed to make? And if they weren’t making decisions, who was?
Admin/Lenti/Alumni. Best win % since the mid 80's when St. L was more of a dominant private school. State runner up in 2023-24 then Qtr Final appearance in 2024-25. Why was Nissen not hired back?
Couldn't win it when they had a huge enrollment advantage due to stupid IHSA policy? Now they will not have that advantage.
Rumor mill really heating up. I think an announcement will be coming down in the next week or so. Latest name I have heard is one that has not been mentioned here but will definitely make a splash among the south side Catholics.
Worst kept secret on the southside. Has the name recognition and NFL career behind it, but can he coach?
Been coaching at his HS Alma Mater for a few years. I think Bill Belichick might be able to give him a few pointers....he'll be fine. ND and Patriots is a good enough resume
Not yet. I had heard HF early on but that obviously didn’t happen. He will land somewhere. Wish him the best. Had nothing but positive interaction with him in my limited contact.
He didn't play for New England. I am not sure if he is coaching at CVS, but I have not heard that.
I know I'm a Detective guys but this is a layup if you follow HS Football, Catholic League Football, especially South Side, this is a easy one. Hard clues given, currently coaches at Alma Mater, played for ND and Patriots....

Yeah, took about 15 minutes. Find Patriots all time roster, search for Notre Dame. That's about 30 names. Only about 20 are alive and below about 75 y/o. 3 or 4 of that are from the Chicago area. Quick google search of each name and what do you know, one of them hits with an article about him going back to coach at his alma mater.
I guess it’s taboo to just put the name out there? Heaven forbid on their Board we actually use a name!
why would anyone want this job? Fire a coach a year after a state title appearance. Fired the previous coach that was successful. There’s a pattern and unless I don’t have all of the information it doesn’t seem like a coach problem.

So is this a slam dunk hire with Darius Fleming and there interview process is only a formality or are there other legitimate candidates interviewing that are being considered?
