I'm not completely absolving him. But I thought it happened again later. Maybe something to review.

there will come a time when those with even the most primitive ability to reason beyond the level of an invertebrate will finally realize that myself, along with a few other brave souls are the only ones worthy of being referred to as Husker fans ... the rest of you are better characterized as Scott Frost fans
after 3 historic losing campaigns .. the 2 are mutually exclusive
I didn't see much of anything today that indicates this year will be any different than the last 4 years. We're totally ****** if Martinez is injured at any point. And because of that, probably AM's biggest strength, his mobility, will be severely limited throughout the season. Once again, this is the least excited I've ever been for an upcoming season, and I really don't expect things will get any better until the Frost era comes to an end.
I just finished watching the entire spring game.
Martinez is going to Martinez. As always, he had his ups and downs. That deep throw to Manning looked really good, unfortunately Manning didn’t catch it. He looks faster, but the more he runs it the more likely he is to get hurt again.
He had some pretty bad throws to the running back coming out of the flat and his interception was pretty puzzling as to why he would even throw the ball. That 100mph knuckleball to Manning in the end zone was terrible as well.
Oliver Martin and Toure look like the best receivers on the team. I’m not sure what the circumstances were with Oliver Martin at Michigan/Iowa, but I’m glad he found his way here to Nebraska because he looks like he has a great set of hands to match a great athletic ability.
Ervine appears to have a great potential at RB. Maybe he’ll actually even be one of the few running backs we have capable of staying healthy?!
Haarberg has a huge arm and very quick feet. He needs some better line protection and better accuracy. But he looks like he has very good potential.
I’m thinking our offense can improve this year from 101st to possibly somewhere around 60th-70th.

My impressions for what they are worth. We are better at all the skill positions on offense other than QB. We might be a little better there with Haarberg/Smothers battling for the #2, with maybe a slight edge to Haarberg after today. Martinez just didn't look much better to me today, had a couple nice balls and more than a couple ? throws. The fastball, the swing/RB pass, the interception, the sidearm throw just leaves me still questioning whether we will see any consistency this Fall.
Really like the RB's, Yant, Scott, Ervin, the Mill South kid, thought all the guys ran well though. We are definitely better at receiver but we only saw one long ball today if I remember right and it was dropped. TE looks like we could start to see some more production as well. The big IF is whether we can get them the ball.
I just couldn't tell much from the O-line, seemed better in pass pro but not so much that I thought it was a noticeable difference. They seemed to me to be a group that run blocks much better and with all our RB's I think we will be hanging our hat on that this Fall, at least that's my hope.
I honestly can't evaluate the D much, I just didn't focus on it as I watched. The secondary seemed sharp and that wrestler from SD Hutmacher seemed like he could make an impact this Fall.
Not a fan of the "thud" first half. I was honestly shocked that a D1 football team would hold that type of Spring game. That and coming off the turning down of the bowl game, just not a good look imo. I'm a Frost fan, just don't agree with those decisions.
I'm still on the fence, I see maybe a .500 season, hoping for a 7-5 or 8-4 season. I'm going to watch regardless of how bad/good we are.

And I didn’t even bring up the potential this team has on the defensive side of the ball.
The only unknown is special teams on how much they have improved in this important area..

I think Toure and Nixon are going to be huge upgrades as returners IF we use them that way. Nixon has got some shake.That’s why a couple people are off their rocker thinking SF should roll out Harrberg or Smothers against Illinois to start the season...

I was hoping to see some changes to the offensive scheme but it looked like a continuation from last year. Haarberg seems to have good upside and maybe a fit for Frosty’s offense. Hope we can go .500, I would take that at this point.
I didn't realize that the wind had switched to the north for this play. I'm assuming you guys are talking about the play where martinez threw it to the west sideline in 1st down to lose 9 yards with 1:50 left in the 1st qtr??
Our WR talent and depth appears to me to be much better. I also think we're going to be happy with our RBs. Hopefully our new left tackle and guards can open some holes. They mostly looked really good on Saturday. I was VERY encouraged by what I saw from our RBs.
Frost admitted that the plan was to throw more deep balls in the scrimmage but that the wind made it very difficult to be successful doing that. We've got some deep threats now. The one time Manning got behind the D, AM underthrew him while throwing with the wind. Manning still should have caught the ball but he took his eyes off of it and got hit right after the ball got there.
Yes. We need to be able to run over teams like Illinois and Minnesota from last year. Not the other way around.

AM under threw the ball with the wind and floated a couple with the wind. Harberg threw darts into the wind. Would have been interesting to see him a series with #1 O.
ehhhhh...Haarberg got the tip of the ball up and floated some in to the wind too. His pick was that way and he had Manning behind every body for 6 and he put too much air under the ball towards I think the SW endzone. The wind just SCREAMS through that SW tunnel when the wind is out of the SW. Has to be a vortex effect or something down in that corner.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the way Haarberg looked even with his trouble with the wind. He and Smothers both looked as good as Luke. The question would be what happens in a game situation without vanilla D calls.
Smothers would win a foot race I think.
True about the d. Pretty plain but there were a few lb blitzes
No question I prefer either one of them.. Keep Taylor Britt on the sidelines..

I didn't think the receivers would be that bad last year, but they were. I still don't know if we can count on Manning this year. Toure was the most impressive of the bunch, but the rest are pretty meh. Some of the running backs have good potential, but I don't think they'll be any better right away than what we had last year. For defensive potential, we have pretty much all the same guys returning. So we don't have anymore potential than last year. We still can't find a guy to replace Tannor who's not even a Division I caliber player, so I highly doubt we're going to make a massive leap on defense for no reason. Did you watch the special teams?
