I'm feeling a little nostalgic for the South this morning. So what's spooky that has happened to you or stories you have heard from Mississippi or other parts of the South?

Played baseball at Arkansas Monticello. There’s a town 30 min from Monticello called Crosset. There is this thing called the Crosset light.... way down a dirt road in the woods. Spooky as hell. Saw it numerous times and simply don’t know how to explain. It goes from one side of the road to the other in a split second. Changes colors. Seems like it’s getting closer. Goes up and down. You can YouTube it but the videos don’t do it justice. Some say it’s gas light. I don’t know.
I’ve had a panther walk under my climbing stand near the levee in the far NW of Mississippi. Wasn’t black but was tan (like a mountain lion). He had a tail that seemed as long as he was. I stood up in my stand and he looked up at me and then ran off. I climbed down, packed my **** up, and never went back. There have been multiple sightings of the big cat along the levee. I honestly think it’s somebody’s pet that got too big to handle in Memphis and they just let him loose.
a panther or similarly sized cat in Greene County, MS, earlier this year.
He was taking the trash down to the road after dark, looked over, and saw eyes at the edge of the woods reflecting the street lamp that were more wide-spaced than any dog he'd seen. He picked up a rock and popped it between the eyes (he's got throwing skills), and the creature turned and ran. As it did, he caught sight of a long tail. He came back in spooked enough that my mother-in-law noticed as soon as she saw him.
Talk about scary... I saw a reincarnation of Sylvester Croom’s offense in Starkville twice and once Lexington Ky..all this year...
