Right here is where it gets me every time-

“You know, you know where you are with
You know where you are with
Floor collapsing, floating
Bouncing back and
One day I am gonna grow wings
A chemical reaction
(You know where you are)
Hysterical and useless
(You know where you are)
Hysterical and
(You know where you are)”

One of the best songs ever. Truth

Transport
Motorways and tramlines
Starting and then stopping
Taking off and landing
The emptiest of feelings
Disappointed people
Clinging onto bottles
And when it comes it's so so disappointing
Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground
Let down and hanging around
Shell smashed, juices flowing
Wings twitch legs are going
Don't get sentimental
It always ends up drivel
One day I am gonna grow wings
A chemical reaction
Hysterical and useless
Hysterical and
Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground
Let down and hanging around
Let down and hanging
Let down
Let down
You know, you know where you are with
You know where you are with
Floor collapsing, floating
Bouncing back and
One day I am gonna grow wings
A chemical reaction
(You know where you are)
Hysterical and useless
(You know where you are)
Hysterical and
(You know where you are)
Let down and hanging around
Crushed like a bug in the ground
Let down and hanging around

You beat me to Good Only Knows. Brian Wilson is a genius.

Carl Wilson.....an underrated voice.....gone too soon.
McCartney said this was the greatest love song ever written.

Seriously, voice of an angel. Dennis had a stunning voice as well, another one gone way too soon. Just a truly talented family.

For example, I think this a great song, but I don't consider it perfect. I think it would be better if they removed about 80% of the backup vocals (doowop?!?).

These songs, on the other hand, I consider great and can think of no changes that would make them better.

I love the almost psychedelic vibe of this:

Crank this one up:

I love the visual story this one tells:

This is obviously very subjective so have at it.

Icarus-Born on Wings of Steel

The dynamics and the emotion conveyed is what music is all about to me.

Anything with Freddie mercury. Just listened to don’t stop me now. Awesome!

Dennis died young.....but from what I read he lived pretty fast.

The more you read about the Beach Boys, the more you realize it wasn't all surfing and hot rods. Some real dark stuff. Brilliant work, but what a road they traveled.

Brilliant might be an understatement in this case.

Never saw that before, he conveyed a lot of emotion that’s for sure. A true virtuoso.

Absolutely love this song! Great choice!

Obviously, I think every song is better if I consider it the worst song ever. I don’t like the sound of the song in general and I hate cats.
Don’t get offended by it, as I said it’s all just personal taste. And I didn’t know you could “thumbs down” anything on YouTube so if you check back, there might be 6!

Not offended, just perplexed why you would make it a point to trash another poster’s choice in a subjective category.

Trashed another poster’s choice? Hardly. I would guess you may be the only person that views it that way. The larger point my post was making was about the diversity of musical tastes. It’s just music, no personal judgements being made.

Tom Waits - “Cold, Cold Ground”

[bbb2021]

Not my favorite but I would have to put this in there

You nailed it. This is from the Andy Williams Show - I believe in 1965. Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers) sang this song - Unchained Melody - and didn't miss a note. The ending was incredible. Many still consider this one of the top 5 or 6 live performances EVER. The young women - back then - turned to jelly every time he sang this classic
