one of our best classEd in history was ranked 60 nationally in 2005, some great players were 2 star guys (mccourty bros), and most of our 5 and 4 star guys were a disappointment.

Keep the bar low and hope for the best!

Or keep expectations high, and the best comes easier

Or we can just keep "hoping" that we aren't the doormat of the B1G

Disappointing 5-star as in Anthony Davis? Are you kidding?

wrong year, mate. 05 most of those guys were unranked. There were 0 four and five stars, so that's why they were so disappointing.

Finding and developing the RIGHT talent is what matters, regardless of the players' "star count." This program can go a long way with 2-star and 3-star talent, under the RIGHT coaching staff.

Even with the RIGHT coaching staff, that only gets you so far... To win Big Ten championships, you need to develop mostly 4 stars to their potential, with some 3 stars

see Wisconsin (Berry's building days), MSU (before the past 3 seasons) and Iowa as well
It is not the stars on his resume; its the fire in his heart.
Coaching, Coaching, Coaching pulls it out. Great coaches know how to, "pluck that vital cord!"
Although Jerry Kill was doing it in Minnesota with 2-3 star players, I do not know if his protégée will be able to continue their upward swing.
The beauty of Rutgers is our top players will be plucked away, but what is left are over looked diamonds in the rough who love the game; love Rutgers; and love Jersey; THEY are the ones who will bootstrap our performance on the field with a coach who can inspire.

Midwestern recruiting is weird. The level of ball out here is pretty good and there are clearly D-1 caliber players, but it's harder to get recruited out to big-time programs. While a lot of their success is based on finding sleeper 2 and 3-star kids, a lot more of it is finding the diamonds in Iowa, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, etc.
