Gundy going to Tenn. I wonder if OSU will come after Dana?
What does that mean?I suggest you pull up flight-tracker.
=Not good.
Bidding war
The writer who is linking Dana to the ASU job is Bruce Feldman. I would be skeptical of anything that comes out of his mouth. He is the same writer who linked Dana to the Miami job in 2015 based on the word of some rapper booster. Dana never made the Ad's shortlist but why would a coach who went 7-5 be on it in the 1st place. In regards to the ASU situation it is completely absurd to think that Dana will receive any consideration. For starts Todd Grahams 6 year record was 46-31 which is exactly the same record Dana had after 6 years at WVU. Secondly Todd Graham was making 3.2 mil Dana makes 3.5mil and will be making 3.6 in 2018. The ASU ad stated they expect to compete for PAC 12 championships on a regular basis. If that is case why would he hire someone from a mid level program with the same winning pct as the guy he just fired? He would have to pay Dana more then his was paying graham just to get him to come. Both ASU and WVU are mid level power 5 schools. The ASU ad has already received quite a bit of criticism for his handling of the Graham situation. All hell would rain down on him if he hired a guy with the same winning pct for more Money. I doubt Bruce Feldman took any of this into consideration when he wrote these articles. Also, SI hinting at Dana and ASU

we are a mid level power 5 job just like ASU. They are not going to pay someone more money for the same exact results. We are the 14th winningest program in College Football.
We are #22 in bowl appearances tied with ND/UCLA/BYU
We are #29 in bowl wins
We might not be Bama but we aren't a middle of the road program.

we need to pay Dana whatever it takes to keep him
Paper.....................are you serious? I think you are and I do my fair share to keep Holgs. I will send another $2 via Western Union ............first thing tomorrow morning. Just don't make this a habit! Warez
That is a bit over the top don't you think? We can hardly do worse. We win these games on pure brute force, I have not seen one moment of brilliant coaching out of Dana in his entire time here, but I have seen him screw up a drive in nearly every game.Of course I’m serious. We might not ever get anyone to replace him.

Good gods, you're a daft pain in the ***.I don’t know. It’s so hard to win at WVU. Historically, 7 wins is a great year you know
Seven wins was ok - but just ok when there were 10 games in a season. 7 out of eleven was poor at best as that meant 7-4 and in those days 7 wins did not assure a team of a bowl. Then when we moved to 12, 7 wins is poor at best and when you consider that all seven win teams go to a bowl these days that is really 7 wins out of 13, that just plain sucks as the team is either 6-6 and winning the bowl to be 7-6 or 7-5 and then losing the bowl. In my book that means NEW HIRE, regardless of the circumstances.I don’t know. It’s so hard to win at WVU. Historically, 7 wins is a great year you know
Anyone recall the 5-4-2 debacle of 1992? After 4-7 and 6-5??

It's how we found out Rich Rod was meeting with Michigan. What does that mean?

Now reportedly Sumlin not interested in Tennessee (must be strong indications for a chance FSU). It's now on to Mike Leach.
Recap:
1 Gruden-Heck No. MNF & commercials pay more
2 Kelly-Pfft yeah right. As if, not going to FL, why go to TN? UCLA
3 Frost-As if, not going to FL, why go to TN, so home sweet Nebraska
4 Mullen-used them til he waited & became 3rd choice for Florida
5 Schiano-Peyton, Urban, and The Hoody may think you're a good hire, but Clay Travis & people who write on some rock in Knoxville say differ
6 Gundy-Thanks for the raise T Boone, UT got youagain
7 Brohom-Happy in W Lafayette
9 Cutcliffe-No thanks Duke is a better job
9 Doeren-used the Mike Gundy approach to get a raise. Raleigh Rocks
10 Sumlin-got $10 million coming in 60 days. Not going back to work for a bunch of crazies.
Now it's reported it on to
11 Mike Leach who will probably take it. Funny thing is I don't see his air raid working in the SEC. Too much passing.
Some of these may be pure rumors, and may have not been real offers but UT needs to keep things a lot quieter. The AD also had to know by October that they were going to need to get a new coach with Butch Jones being a disaster, so they should have had a line of candidates who we they are going to hire with a solid likelihood of this guy is a yes.
The irony is all the while Les Miles who has publicly said he is interested has a NC and a few SEC titles. The guy may be boring & old but he's got a better resume' than some of the others they've talked to..
