I imagine I wasn't the only one who saw his past "accomplishments" and his stat line coming out of JUCO and thought, "Really? And he's coming to Nebraska on a football scholarship? Well, if you say so..."
Once in a while the sun shines on my ***.
I don't think anyone was jumping out of their chair when he committed. I remember most being focused on McCaffrey since they essentially committed at the same time.
We were looking for more competition at his spot and he offered that at a time when our outside options were extremely limited. Due to his frame and the "late bloomer" outlook, people hoped that Frost, Duval and Fisher could transform him into a two-deep player within a few months time. Not surprising that it didn't happen.
You get what you get when you go summertime shopping for immediately eligible players. At least this one only cost a scholarship for two months.
