Monticello may have their hands full with Olympia but after that, they should be good until SJO. Tolono has improved a lot as the season has progressed so I wouldn't count them out to beat either Spartans or the Sages.
I could see that happening. If not this week I like Peotone potentially against them next week.
Whichever team comes out of the Monticello/Olympia matchup will be either Roxana or Hillsboro. I do think if Pana were to play Hillsboro now, Pana would win. Took them a few games but they're playing their best football lately.

They have a dynamic RB/QB combo.
Interesting note on this game. Last year Auburn was 0-9 and Red Bud was 1-8.

The South Central doesnt suck... They get teams to the quarters often... Someone has to win and someone has to lose. I didnt think Pana would lose to Shelbyville then I remembered Shelbyville crushing teams in the playoffs that were picked to beat the Rams... I was going to change my prediction for that game but I'd be damned if I was going to let a 3-7 team scare me into changing!!!
Could also argue the TRAC and Big Northern suck as well.
The BNC outside of Byron hasn’t seemed the best. DuPec had beaten those allegations til today. But the 56-o drubbing by Byron was eye opening. The TRAC has notably been down it’s been pretty obvious.

What sticks out to me is the head-to-head which shows competitive matchups!
So does the South Central suck or not? I will concede that of the 3A conferences most of us follow, the South Central is the weaker specifically in the Hardware department. Between the South Central, Sangamo, and the Illini Prairie, the South Central is lacking!

Byron v IC will be at Byron. I think the winner beats RB in the semis, but loses to SJO in the finals.

So far this year, the Sangamo has (somewhat surprisingly) not looked good. The SCC has not looked good either, but that’s kinda historically par for the course. Not trying to be a dick, just going off history.
Illini Prairie conference looks good. ICE conference is doing ok. The BNC seems down for sure this year.
The Sangamo has notably been down. Athens isn’t what they were Williamsville isn’t what they were and Marora I think has a better team than last year but they went north unfortunately. The SCC to me has never been good. I have buddy who watches that conference religiously and he goes it’s just not very good.
I don't have a dog in the fight Doc... I have a history playing and coaching against some of the Sangamo teams thats it. Just about every 3A conference has dead weight near the bottom... it is what it is!~
Maroa would probably be the favorite in the south, but I would not be a bit surprised if Aurora Christian beats them this weekend.
Yeah everyone has bottom feeders but the SCC has just never had much success.
Seeing Olympia get blanked out of the Sangamo and Willyville have a somewhat close call gives me pause on that league too. But to be fair, I believe they have 3 teams still playing so that’s not terrible.
Actually think AC pulls this one out. MF wouldn’t have nearly the playoff success they’ve experienced if they were in the north.
Agree 100%. King of the JV bracket. Just another good team in the North.
I still think SJO will have a hard time with both of those programs. They can absolutely score some points but IC will have the speed and athletes to easily match SJO across the board. Byron and their offense will be hard to stop as well. Would absolutely go for a 3A title game like we had last year though that was great.
Regardless…as fans with no dog in the fight, there are several intriguing games coming up in 3A. Hasn’t been the case for awhile.
Most intriguing game of 1A to me are in the south Oakwood and BC and Calhoun and Tuscola. Tuscola notoriously owns the WIVC they have like a 16-2 record against the conference.
In fairness, I had just come from the 4A bracket... I had Aurora Central Catholic on the brain. You prob right about Christian winning. Misread the bracket... blunder ensued. Sheeeeeesh... I was still in shock that Aurora Central Catholic was still alive in 4A to be honest...
I would have to think so... I'm being even more honest, I would have thought a CPS team had them out by now... They go lucky it appears to draw who they did.
