pretty much. never been a world beater of a conference, but there have been good teams come out of it. off the top of my head carlinville in 16, vandalia has had an all-state quarterback last year and this year, making 3a quarters last year, but 2a south this year. pana has been playing decent football for the last decade or so. however yes, no year-in year-out consistently and historically dominant teams.

hillsboro may lose to roxana but will get wiped by monticello if they advance i think

Monti isnt a given winner if it should face Hillsboro. Pontiac gave Monti all they could handle before surviving 19-12!

Sounds like mission accomplished for Monticello the since they were one of the schools that proposed the expanded playoffs.

Monticello may have their hands full with Olympia but after that, they should be good until SJO. Tolono has improved a lot as the season has progressed so I wouldn't count them out to beat either Spartans or the Sages.

I just think that conference sucks. It isn't my doubt in them as coaches there is none. BUT. I am not sold on that conference. Like I said I think Roxana beats Hillsboro this week and Roxana is no world beater.

Whichever team comes out of the Monticello/Olympia matchup will be either Roxana or Hillsboro. I do think if Pana were to play Hillsboro now, Pana would win. Took them a few games but they're playing their best football lately.

Auburn could be a sleeper. Played fairly well in the Sangamo and although they aren't Bill'ville or MF, they are a decent team.

I’ll take Auburn also.

They have a dynamic RB/QB combo.

Interesting note on this game. Last year Auburn was 0-9 and Red Bud was 1-8.

The South Central doesnt suck... They get teams to the quarters often... Someone has to win and someone has to lose. I didnt think Pana would lose to Shelbyville then I remembered Shelbyville crushing teams in the playoffs that were picked to beat the Rams... I was going to change my prediction for that game but I'd be damned if I was going to let a 3-7 team scare me into changing!!!

The BNC outside of Byron hasn’t seemed the best. DuPec had beaten those allegations til today. But the 56-o drubbing by Byron was eye opening. The TRAC has notably been down it’s been pretty obvious.

So Doc I did a shallow dive between the Sangamo and the South Central...

Time period: 2017-18 to present.

Head to head: Sangamo is 8-6 against the South Central
Each have 4 teams that have not played against said opponents
Hardware: Sangamo has 10 Runners up and 1 championship
South Central has 1 Runners up

In terms of hardware the South Central is Everest to a ant hill!!!

What sticks out to me is the head-to-head which shows competitive matchups!

So does the South Central suck or not? I will concede that of the 3A conferences most of us follow, the South Central is the weaker specifically in the Hardware department. Between the South Central, Sangamo, and the Illini Prairie, the South Central is lacking!

If my numbers are off its 0120 and I just had my gallbladder removed Wednesday afternoon... No excuses but...

Yeah everyone has bottom feeders but the SCC has just never had much success.
Seeing Olympia get blanked out of the Sangamo and Willyville have a somewhat close call gives me pause on that league too. But to be fair, I believe they have 3 teams still playing so that’s not terrible.
