I’ll eat some crow on this. I was somewhat adamant he would be a fine role player here for us and I still believe given the chance he would. He’s a good but not great glue player that I liked as a piece. I think one of the problems that you encounter with a guy like him committed is it’s hard to convince transfers how they fit when you have these barely above average players committed. I think this is a direct response to transfer options for next year, you have to remember many of these players will hit the port in the next 2 weeks as teams are eliminated.
You don't have to eat crow. It's a damn message board. Any basketball talk is good talk. If anyone has ever experienced Helicopter Parents, they know what this is about. Clark's at his 4 HS in 2 yrs. He's now going to another commitment. His family has their opinion on things and that's fine. For their sake, hope it works out for them wherever they go but from what was being shared about them and what people were saying about his game when they watched him play, he wouldn't have been a good fit here or with way Cal coaches/runs his program.

Understand that it upset UK/BBN fans who just want to hear great things about their players/commitments, etc....but all I've done is share what I either feel/see or in this case what others who I trust a great deal see/know behind the scenes. Don't make up info to pretend to be some inside guy.

Kentucky got one of the guys I wanted them to land (Wallace) and other options are available to them. Have to see how it goes and find out what happens. Until then they have the Postseason to distract us with!

I have 0 concern about this. Wheeler is back or we have someone else lined up. If your PG is ranked in the 20s you’re not going to be great.
Word is that Wheeler is back, 100% chance of it. Common sense tells you this anyway. Been saying it all year that he will be back. If Tyler Ulis couldn’t stick in the league, Wheeler has an absolutely 0 shot.

I've never been "dying for inside info". You have no clue about Hopkins as you backtracked right after he had good game, smh. But I get it. Some need to feel like they are at a higher level than others to make themselves feel important. Humorous.
I backtracked on my comments about him not being worth playing in that particular game. Never said he was staying. For the record I've always liked Bryce Hopkins game/skill set. I don't like the people in his ear who pretend he's not 20/25 lbs out of shape. Also still expect him to be gone based on what has been shared. Hope that info is wrong.

Comments in a game thread are made and all you can do is call out when you are wrong. Did that about him and other things too. I'm always quick to call out incorrect things I've stated which is what this is about--if you say something incorrect own up to it.

Never have made some comment I am higher than anyone else. But you seem to be upset that I shared info that ended up being 100% correct about Skyy Clark and did so all along, never wavered or differed my take based on who was telling me things. If that is upsetting to you, fine but it was actual inside info and for you to just dismiss that is laughable. Even people who were pissed off and calling me out for saying negative things about Clark or what those who communicate with UK staff were saying about how he was playing and their suggestions to drop him have acknowledged that info was 100% correct. Just because someone knows something doesn't make them more important or all knowing but if they know about something, they know. This case, people can judge but look at title of thread and this one is a no brainer that I wasn't throwing **** at a dart board and hoping it stuck.

I’ve long thought Miranda is going to reclass and be an option for next year. With Oscar possibly coming back I’m not so sure anymore. Thoughts on Miranda?

@ralphdaltonfan Just curious, what's your thoughts on Livingston's game?
Think he's going to be a really good college player once he gets into better shape and sustains playing hard. The last game I watched was rough, but he was in cruise control and just knew he was more athletic than everyone. I loved his quickness/game more as a JR and think he's better at 205-210 then 220 right now--but UK can put proper weight on him.

He can run the floor, rebound, and has improved his jumper.

If he reclasses I don't think he'll be a Cat. There's an internal debate about him on the staff with Cal being hesitant about a few things. Cal coached his HS coach at Memphis too. So I trust he's gotten all the background info fully here but '23 class lacks elite Big Men/staying in that class would help Miranda's case with UK and think Cal's hesitancy is more about liking the proven big if he can't the guy he wants (Lively) with a few of the guys being rumored to be interested via Transfer Portal that are frontcourt players for this Spring/next season.

Oscar Tshiebwe's season is going to only enhance Kentucky as a place to go for current CBB players who may have passed on them out of HS (which I was told is preferred for UK--guys they already know personally and know their families through recruiting or via their background prior to UK like current staff who just came over)

I thought of him as more of a 3. Most of the videos I've seen he's jacking 3s. But he's really athletic too. Will be interesting to see how playing time fleshes out between him and Hopkins. I've seen your posts on here about Hopkins and I wouldn't be surprised if he left as well.

Any players to look for that UK might be looking at to possibly transfer in?

I could definitely see Hopkins leaving . He had a big game and has barely played since . You better believe some people around him is probably in his ear .
They also know that if that corner 3 went in after he gave up one already in his mins early 2nd Half he was getting yanked. Rest was history-he did a great job and helped win that game with some fantastic play.

Personally late in games, I like Bryce out there and Collins--Bryce when facing pressure because he can dribble/pass and Collins because he can make FT's. I get why UK staff doesn't with Bryce--he's slow footed due to his own lack of physical shape and they don't want blown defensive assignments. Collins--I'd really think about it late when facing press and or foul situations for opponents. He's been big time at FT line in his stints albeit limited.

Haven't been given any names but have heard several Bigs are interested. So we'll have to check Portal or situations. Personally, I'm hoping Cliff Omoruyi would enter Portal/look to leave because I really like what I've seen from him at Rutgers this year but get if he stayed and no idea whom else has reached out via back channels to UK.

Guys... this is too early for wheeler to made a decision on coming back, so no this isnt based on wheeler. people do this all the time, because you want it to mean something else good is happening rather than we're just stuck without a PG. if a decision like this was based on him thinking wheeler or tyty was coming back, he'd wait to make the decommit after or like a day or so before our player decided officially, not weeks or a month before the season is officially over and Wheeler has to made a final decision.

but with Sky's injury , its probably best this way for us.... lets try and get wheeler or /and tyty back or a good transfer ...

Win for Kentucky. Good luck to Clark and his entourage at his next stop. This would've happened sooner if he didn't get injured in Summer.

Trust my friend I talk to and this just proves why. When I get word on something, it's why I don't waver. Friend doesn't just share something daily or to act important, he shares what he knows and is told and doesn't make things up if he doesn't know. There's no reason to crap on a kid now he's gone. I'm glad he's gone and he wasn't a fit for Kentucky. But respect his work to come back from injury and hope he has a nice career.
You hearing anything about Sharpe? Stay or leaving?

The write up I read...

Skyy Clark, the 25th-ranked recruit in the 2022 class, has decommitted from Kentucky and reopened his recruitment, he announced on social media Sunday.

The four-star prospect initially committed to the Wildcats in October 2020 over North Carolina, Memphis, and UCLA.

"First and foremost, I would like to thank coach Cal, the entire coaching staff at UK, as well as BBN for all the love and support you all have shown me over the past two years," Clark wrote. "It honestly means the world to me. And that is what has made this decision such a tough one for me.

"But after a lot of thought and reflection, I have decided to ask for my release from the University of Kentucky so I may reopen my recruitment. I will take the next few weeks to regroup with my family to figure out what is the best move going forward."

Kentucky still boasts a strong recruiting class for next season, which includes five-star prospects Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston. Shaedon Sharpe, the top-ranked 2022 recruit, could also suit up next fall if he doesn't declare for this year's NBA draft.

Simply because I mentioned it as a possibility?

He is a SG/SF who will play on the perimeter shooting and attacking the rim off the bounce.
247Sports "Chris Livingston is a 6-5, 170-pound Shooting Guard from Akron, OH."
Tremendous physical build for a wing. Has explosive athleticism and can make plays in traffic. Loves to attack the rim. Has a powerful spin move to finish off drives. Shoots it well enough from deep but an area for improvement. Handles well in space but needs to tighten and refine his handle. Can deliver a pass on the move. Active player who comes up with balls off the glass and the floor. Has great potential as a multi positional defender.

But I'm sure you know better! 😉
LOL. Livingston is a 220 lb. SF.

Jesus, man. You’re all in on being an adamant a-hole. Ralph is a good dude with legit info.

Do you need to take a break from the computer?

Go listen to his interview with Jack Pilgram. He said he doesn’t see a fit for himself on next years team. Seems like he has lost some confidence after his 2 injuries.

If Wheelers back we just need to make sure whoever is playing next to him is good as Ty Washington and we'll be fine.
Like I'm good with another year of wheeler.
Give me wheeler and Oscar back next year and I'll see you back in March for another run at number one seed.
I would actually be a absolutely ecstatic to win the championship this year and then get back wheeler and Shib to run at it again! The absolute best situation that a Kentucky fan could hope for
Cason Wallace seems like he may be a TyTy Washington part 2. No guarantees with a freshman coming in, but he seems to have a similar calm above-his-years demeanor and be a do everything pretty well combo-guard - including playing defense and PG. Like Washington, as a freshman I think he would be best as the secondary PG, often playing alongside Wheeler but being the primary PG when Wheeler is out.
