Surprising to hear this now.. but I remember a lot of us wondered if this might happen at some point anyways.

Skyy would have been a good player for us during the 2015 to 2020 lull. But now with Cals recruiting picking up and transfers, there's going to be better options.

Inhavent said this much because I don’t want to hear the bs, but Sky Clarke isn’t that good to begin with. Never thought he was a very good pickup this doesn’t bother me at all. It means there’s shuffling going on and we’re best without him. The money he could make here outweighs anywhere else. He wouldn’t do it willingly. This feels orchestrated more by UK than Clarke.

And it’s not really an opinion. Guys that know know.

He also said Hopkins leaving was a foregone conclusion. Any simpleton can claim that a guy that might get recruited over will decommit or a 4 or 5 star that rarely plays in his first year is out of there. If they are right, they look like Nostradomus and if they are wrong they just shrug it off and people forget.

Lol I was just giving him props . I know In the recruiting game people will be wrong . That’s why I never bash Matt Jones or any insiders when they are wrong .

Surprised at the positivity in this thread, not that i disagree. Just figured more people would be complaining about Cal and recruiting. Maybe our fans can see some of the bigger picture
Not much you can do when a kid who’s been committed for almost 1.5 years says “Cya”.

Means something has changed internally. Could be a huge mark that wheeler comes back.

or in a fantasy world both TyTy and Sharpe say “We’re staying”. (Lol, if so mail us next years trophy right now). But we all know that’s ain’t happening.

Does anybody know if CJ Frederick can handle the ball? You need a minimum of three guards each year that can handle pressure and handle the ball consistently. Wheeler and Wallace check that box but we may need one more after this.

Or maybe we don’t have an agenda like some do when it comes to defending a coach instead of the program.

People need to call balls and strikes instead of agendas. No real UK wants Cal to fail it’s stupid to believe that and shows just how far down rabbit holes some will go to defend something in their mind.

Who would not want to be on a National Championship calibre team? Maybe stats matter too much for him.

We will see but I’m almost certain there is a way better chance Livingston ends up on the floor as the 4 in a small ball lineup than he is at SG.

Only time will tell .
livingston will never play one damn second at SG here . He is a college 3/4 just like Hopkins . More of a 3 sure but good lord we are hurting bad if he ever sees a minute at the 2 .

For the record, I still don't expect Hopkins to be here. I hope that changes because I like Hopkins game but those in his ear will not want him in Lexington for year #2.

As for Clark. I get what that dude was saying but this was one I was on an island alone--stood with info that I was getting when he was being recruited, committed, and signed LOI. Even got into it with his Dad when he posted here and lied, saying it wasn't him. (it was) Sometimes people know something too. This case, I trusted the person who was telling me something and he's often not wrong. Once again he "luckily" was correct. So those dying for inside info still get pissed when they get some? Okay. Got it. The current staff never wanted him. Period.

Shaudy, sorry thought I was responding to the other guy you quoted. My fault.

Your 3rd grade "some here are Cal fans, not UK fans" is so cute.

Not one single poster here would follow him to another school and cheer for that school instead of UK if he left. Well, other than you if he decided to go back to Memphis. lmao

He started out by commenting that I was a "fake/fraud" and ended up with saying "You like me know your stuff". I called him Kenny and he denied it. Was confirmed by a few friends it was Kenny. LOL

Good lord his dad went on message boards to defend him? Lol, good riddance. KC Ross-Millers dad also posted here a couple times during the Gillespie years, what a mess.

Memphis? I went to college at Memphis and hate them above all. I was born and bred UK by my family in Mayfield, Ky. I grew up on horses and Kentucky basketball. I hated that I had to go to Memphis but it was to play baseball and I lived an hour away. I wore a Kentucky sash to my Memphis graduation. I’ve been UK bred since birth. Memphis fans hate me with passion. It’s my least favorite school with UT. Grew up hating them because I was raised by a UK family.

I’ve spent more on UK than you, have more experiences with UK than you, and definitely own more UK memorabilia than you, and am a much bigger UK fan than you.

No one here believes a word of your horseshit.

Now I’m going to grad school at UK.

You’re stupid af and I mean that as nice as possible. Friggin weirdo. I’m going to put your accounts on ignore as I soon as I see them. Not interested in talking to bitches at this point in my life. Got it going to good. So you’re ignored.

I'm glad he's gone but if you believe it was his choice, that's where you'd be incorrect. UK moved on and parted ways.
If that’s true, then hopefully things work out well for him. It’s gotta be a disappointment to be with a school only to be told later “sorry, but you need to find somewhere else”. I know it happens across all schools and all sports, but still

A lot of this is simply Cal didn't want to pull the plug when the guy was injured. If he didn't get injured in the Summer right before Peach Jam, everything would've separated then. Their camp didn't care for Cason Wallace/Nick Smith Jr being offered and rest of staff didn't care and told Cal to offer anyways. Wallace thankfully ended up a Cat, but I think Smith Jr would've if Cats parted with Clark at that time. But it's over now, so onto the next options.

I’ll eat some crow on this. I was somewhat adamant he would be a fine role player here for us and I still believe given the chance he would. He’s a good but not great glue player that I liked as a piece. I think one of the problems that you encounter with a guy like him committed is it’s hard to convince transfers how they fit when you have these barely above average players committed. I think this is a direct response to transfer options for next year, you have to remember many of these players will hit the port in the next 2 weeks as teams are eliminated.

I've never been "dying for inside info". You have no clue about Hopkins as you backtracked right after he had good game, smh. But I get it. Some need to feel like they are at a higher level than others to make themselves feel important. Humorous.
