Nope. Looked like the same player during their game as last season, think he finished with zero points and a rebound or two

I think Skals gonna be a hang around for a while. I don't see him making it in be NBA past his contract. Maybe something extends but it won't be a big deal for much. He's a Haitian. This is typical. He just doesn't have it.

You may be correct about how long he stays in the league, but that is a terrible take. Nationality has nothing to do with how long a player stays in the league or whether he has "IT" or not... Shameful.

I wasn't aware of a dominant Haitian.

I agree that the invidious discrimination in the reference to the fact that Skal is a Haitian has no place on this board. However . . . Skal was a mistake by Calipari. No other way to slice it.

Just MHO, of course.

Congrats for revealing yourself to be a douchebag. I'm no fan of Skal's game, as folks who've read my posts know by now, but his nationality has nothing whatsoever to do with whether he "has it" or not. Only a narrow-minded twit would think that was the reason.

Another one! Trigggggeeeerrrred!!!!!!

Being Haitian and being bad at basketball seem to actually have lot to do with each other. If you can't handle that, IDGAF.

Douche? That's so gay.

Don't trigger yourself on that.

2 things Olden Polynice was never ever a "baller". Secondly he wasn't raised in Haiti he was raised in Harlem. I think what the poster meant was that or at least I assume that.
All-ACC, 8th pick in the draft. That's damn sure not a scrub.

maybe dial down the trolling a tad bit. it's not funny when it's not subtle

Lol I don't care.

The faux outrage at saying Haitians are typically bust Is ridiculous. SJW's couldn't handle their own shadow following them around. If it was a white nation not a word would be said.

So stupid.

no one said he was a scrub. anyone who plays basketball for a living is no scrub. everything is relative though. All conference and lottery pick describes a whole lot of guys i wouldn't constitute as ballers

The point is if that's the best that country has produced, I mean, eh. Is what it is.

I looked up all time Haitian basketball players and he's not even listed as a Haitian. The only one I even recognized out of the 20 something is Samuel Dalembert.

People feak out over nothing.

Faux Outrage? You are the only idiot here that is acting outrageous. Everyone else is trying to keep the board clean and on topic. You brought race into a discussion where it has no place. And yes I would say the same thing if you said the same thing regarding Australians, Canadians, or any other "White" nation. You are a raciest and you have outed yourself.

It doesn't matter if not a single decent player has come from a country or not, their nationality has nothing to do with their ability to play the game of Basketball.

Coaching, physical ability, skill and a million other factors come into play, but Not nationality. In fact I wouldn't even know how nationality would factor in. Like I said earlier, you are shameful and should be banned from this forum, not sure how you've lasted this long. You are a stain on this board.

Why don't white people freak out when someone says white people can't jump? It's not totally true. There are some that can jump out of the gym. But as a whole. We can't jump. Why isn't there more people upset with that? :boxing:

Exactly. And this is what is most shocking to me. I could possibly see where maybe one or two folks would overrate Skal, especially given that he didn't compete in high school ball his senior year. But he was the highest ranked player in his entire recruiting class. . . and I think almost all UK fans realized he was going to struggle at the college level after watching him on court just 5-10 minutes. Can't explain that.

Because it's white people who usually say it.

I think some UK fans want Skal to fail in order to solidify their opinion.

If they watch the game and Skal is having a great game, do the same people say "yeah, that's a UK boy"?

I'm guessing no.

Because it's white people who usually say it.
Black people say it all the time. If you're the trained sensitive type, then you know that, for example, the phrase "sneaky athletic" has historically been a code for "white guy who surprisingly can jump" in the same way that if someone's first word about a black person is "articulate", it connotes a deviation from the expected.

I don't agree with anybody in this thread.
I abhor Trump and think he's the furthest thing from presidential when you look at how he talks.

But there was a national epidemic of men lying to their wives and female coworkers last week about what does and doesn't get said in locker rooms - "Why, I never!". Yes, you have. You might not have said it, but you've heard it. Just stop lying. Whichever 4 former pro players told Tyler Thompson that they've never heard that kind of talk in a locker need to stop treating her like a 4 year old. It's like telling her that Santa exists.

This same kind of pearl -clutching behavior has existed for centuries. It's just that sjws are the new dominant puritans in our country, whereas in the 90s and before, it was the conservative Christians who were trying to shame everybody into holding their tongues. And in middle Eastern countries, it's obviously the Muslims who retain control over the dialogue.

Everybody has a grody friend who makes female genital references and expresses a desire to fondle megan fox or whoever. Hell, most females have a friend who could easily spout the phrase "I want to grab that guy by the **** and take him home" if she was having a good night at a bar.

I think the Haitian comment was silly, but he's absolutely right that if you said it about a Latvian, nobody would care. That tells me that some component of the response is arbitrary and contingent on environmental factors.

Clutch, clutch, clutch.

I find the responses in this thread amusing...personally, I think Haitians really don't give a crap what we think about their basketball skills...they are busy digging up bodies right now. If you feel better about yourself by defending them on a message board - maybe you should look into donating some of your parents hard earned cash to a good cause? If you really want to help them - don't donate to the Clinton foundation though...I hear only a small percent actually goes to helping Haitians...but not trying to make this political.

What the hell is morgusky talking about? I mean seriously, what the hell are you talking about? What is triggered? You reacted more emotionally than anyone here. Did your nursing friend tell you that in their books they have a chart that says Haitians are bad at basketball?

Didn't see nor hear about Skal; I imagine that he's practicing.
I feel bad for the kid, honestly - he wasn't used correctly (Cal's own admission), he really didn't have that "it" factor to be a star, and he was under a boatload of pressure to make good to get his family out of their situation. I'd hate that for anyone
