Refs make bad calls all the time.
This was over 10 years ago. Get over it.

That was the rooferree that made that "bad" call and it wasn't just a "bad" call, it was an embarrassingly HORRENDOUS call that gave UConn two free points with Napier going to the free throw line. I can give you other examples from 2015 and 2017 and 2018 and 2019. I can even give you the Auburn game from this year, what was UK called for, was it three or four technical fouls in 30 seconds at Arkansas ? What about UK getting homecooked in Rupp Arena vs. Tennessee this year ? The refs erasing Oweh's incredible and very clean block on a Tennessee break away dunk attempt because they couldn't help making another **** call on UK even on their own home floor ? The NCAA hates UK and you need to get over that. When UK puts an all time great team together that's so great even the refs can't F with them like the 2012 team, then we will win another National Title. God knows how long that will take though. It damn sure won't be happening under Pope.

Would it be nice to Kentucky win five (5) straight games to the end the season, versus losing early in the NCAAT ??
NIT is not as prestigious, OF COURSE, but the Cats would add to their all-time win total and fans can enjoy ending on a winning streak, not a loss.
No. NIT prize is like kissing your sister.

Topics like this definitely exist in between games, no sweat. Hopefully we make a run but I'm pessimistic. Today is a big day to change the momentum

Unless this was posted in 1970, the answer is quite clear.

This isn't the 80s anymore the NIT is a non event. But honestly I'd rather not see this group play postseason basketball at all...they're that unwatchable

What kind of stupid *** question is this. Nobody cares if you win a hundred NITs.

Let me put it this way, if we're in the NCAAT, I'm watching, if we're in the NIT, I'm watching Andy Griffith reruns.

Seems like the only reason someone voted for the NIT is because of the all time wins.

I don’t care about the all time wins enough to want to go to the NIT

The question wasn't would you rather go to the NIT, rather than the NCAAT ... the hypothetical was losing early in the NCAAT versus WINNING the NIT !!! Of course, losing early in NIT would be awful, no question. I'm not even certain that KY would accept an NIT invitation, if they didn't make the NCAAT.
The NIT means absolutely nothing to anyone under 40.
There was a time when it meant something but it's like the Liberty Bowl in the playoff era.

Honestly, I'll say win five straight in the NIT. I've always said that winning the NIT is basically equivalent of making it to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 but not winning those rounds in the NCAA Tournament difficulty wise. Plus we could actually gain in the all time wins department. Problem is, this team hasn't shown me at all they can win the NIT. In fact, most teams in the NIT are the type of mid teams this team struggles with.
I would rather lose in the first round of the NCAA tournament than win the NIT championship. Just being in the NIT is embarrassing. As a Florida fan, I’ve seen my team in too many NITs over the years. No thanks.
