That's what I saw as well. Incomplete pass iirc.Did I see that right ?
I definitely don't get that move if true.
He probably rewarded them.Yup. I saw a lot of players on both sides of the ball get a chance to play in the Gator Bowl.
That was my thought. This game had multiple goals besides just winning imo.He probably rewarded them.
I assume he said something to the effect of if you are on the 3-deep, I will find a way to put you in this game.
Go back into the smelly hole from which you came. One play. Is that an insult, especially since the other QBs played poorly ?
Don’t think they played yesterday with winning being the main goal. Looked like GS was rewarding everyone with gameplay, esp in 2nd/3rd quarters when they still had an actual shot to upset Wake. That was my thought. This game had multiple goals besides just winning imo.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the portal.i was also looking to see more from Simon. I thought he played well against Maryland and seem to have a good arm and some mobility. I hope we can find a way to keep developing him and GW. we need to find a way to keep him happy otherwise we might lose a quality young QB to the portal, which is something we can't afford. We need at a minimum two quality QBs that can run the offense and one-two others that are developing/the future.
That’s one way of looking at it, I’m sure if his family was there at the game or gathering at a family member’s house to watch the game they were thinking the same thing. They saw what he could do against Maryland. Wanted to see what Wimsatt could do in this game.

When Rutgers played a different QBs on 4 consecutive plays I knew we weren't taking the game seriously.Did I see that right ?
I definitely don't get that move if true.
Only if he wants to drop down a level.I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the portal.
Everyone on the team who isn’t playing can try to go into the portal and drop down and hopefully play more, but there are big risks, lots of players have gone into the portal and found they have no takers. We always focus on the players in the portal that we and everyone else are chasing after, but a much larger percentage of players going into the portal have attracted little interest, mainly guys like Simon who haven’t played much. At least at Rutgers next year he is one injury away from playing.I understand what your saying about dropping down a level but when you have been recruited over and may only get garbage time on the field your entire college career if you’re lucky , many will choose to start at a lower level and possibly get into the league through the back door.
Worked for a lot of players who still went to the league.Only if he wants to drop down a level.
He couldn't have been thrilled with being pulled after one friggin play.Simon was undecided on transferring before the game. I hope his lack of PT didn't push him into the portal. He beat out Ohio State's Marvin Harrison, Jr. as Pennsylvania Mr. Football in 2020, so you know he has to have plenty of confidence in his ability.
Personally, I think he has a lot to contribute to the program, but I would not be surprised to see him in the portal soon.
Hell.. I suggested STARTING Simon to.. hopefully.. get the idea that we were determined to pass... thereby setting up the run and our running QBs.i was also looking to see more from Simon. I met his mother the day before the game in Jacksonville. Lovely woman, talked about what a rollercoaster this has all been. They were hoping he’d get some action in the game. That’s one way of looking at it, I’m sure if his family was there at the game or gathering at a family member’s house to watch the game they were thinking the same thing.
Question, if we weren’t taking the game seriously, you would have no problem with players opting out. If the coaching staff doesn’t take the game seriously why should the playersWhen Rutgers played a different QBs on 4 consecutive plays I knew we weren't taking the game seriously.
Players opted out before the game was played. But if coach said.."hey guys, we're gonna try a few different things and just go down there and do the best we can and just have fun".. then I'd have to agree.Question, if we weren’t taking the game seriously, you would have no problem with players opting out. I think there is a good chance Simon jumps ahead of Vendral on the depth chart. Vendral has plateaued at this point, he is not getting better. Simon is still young and improving, and over 8 months i won’t be surprised if he is backing up Wimsatt.I get it, some fans either (a) don’t like Noah or (b) think Gavin isn’t ready (or good). The coaches believe otherwise. We also wanted to work in Johnny Football, which has been a part of the offense for 2 years.
All of that is a way of saying that we can’t play everyone. Simon knows his role on this team. He’s the #3 next year and probably the #2 thereafter. Backup QBs play a lot in college so he’ll have more than one opportunity. If that’s not good enough he’ll move on in the spring.
Let’s hope he stays.I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the portal.
It would be great if he stays, but I don't see it happening.I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s in the portal.
I don't think Vedral played poorly. It's not an insult either, this isn't Pop Warner. This a non-issue.One play. Is that an insult, especially since the other QBs played poorly ?
JohnnyIt would be great if he stays, but I don't see it happening.
That would leave RU with Gavin and who after next season ?
Need to do that by giving him a real legit shot at seeing the field here.....and not for one play.Need to keep his hopes up so he doesn't transfer.
