Yeah, blackdog. Hey Brian. Would you tell us how you came up with that considering WRH out gained JK by one hundred yrds. Game could have easily gone the other way. Game went down to the end before it was decided.
Individual stat lines, like yards gained vs oppenents yards gained, aren't considered in power ratings/score predictions. Especially when you're looking at 400+ schools...no 1 person has that much time. Especially when half of the schools don't enter in their stats till Wednesday, some never do.
I don't care if you had 300 more yds...who scored the most points?
Think about it before you question the dude actually putting in the work.

I calculate the spread for each game by taking the power ratings of the two
teams and adding in two points for the home team. If the margin of victory
exceeds 42 points, take the difference between the forecast spread and 42 and
divide by 2 to get my projected spread, due to the new NC mercy rule(running
clock once spread hits 35 in the second half). For example, 60 points would
become 51; 50 points would become 46, etc. The predictions will become more
accurate as the season progresses.
Looks like the overall power ratings plays a big part. With that said, when it comes to rivalry games like this, you can throw the numbers out the window in most cases.
It’s great to be favored but Coach Twitchel isn’t likely to run the score up that high. He don’t like doing it. Heck against SWE late in the game he got hot with a backup for running out of bounds and stopping the clock. @swe98 coukd hear him from the top of the visitors stands. He text me and asked why our coach was mad. I texted him back and said because he told the kid to stay in bounds. SWE98 text back and said I wish our coach h would get mad!

Kid at Roanoke said they were going to beat us by 50. All I got to say to them is play nice. When you see we are playing the clock don’t get cocky. It can get ugly quick as you say!!
I’ll hang around the field house for a while after every thing is put up. Then I will stop in town at the speedway and talk to the guys that hang out there. Sometimes we go to Washington to cookout for a shake. I might get home by midnight. Then I’ll be watching whatever game was on 7.2 over the air. WITN shows a game every week on 7.2 right now I don’t know who is playing but I have a TiVo for over the air so I can record it. Who needs sleep!!
Good luck to you and them bulldogs tomorrow night. I believe this will be the best game of the 2nd rd. I hate that I will miss it.

I only pull against them once a year now that they've dropped North. I work with ex Tarboro players, and one co-worker's son play there now. Dude wears a Tarboro shirt or hoodie everytime we catch a train together..Creep..In the end, it's our neighbors kids and glad they have great success.
I don’t think there is a team in our conference that I dislike enough to pull against them. Years ago in 3A it was Havelock as our main rival. Both schools were new and built from the same plans. They owned us. I think West Craven started in 71. I was a freshman in 73. My senior year in football our goal was to be the first WC team to score on Havelock. They had always skunked us . 73-0 I think was the score one year. We played at Havelock had a 2nd half punt return for a TD called back on a hold. Number given belonged to our punter that was on the sideline for the play. Ended up losing in 3 OT’s to a field goal. 3-0 We still hadn’t scored. Jeez that always hurt. But I always respected them. Good program and people. Jim Bob Bryant came along and was a different breed to get along with which you couldn’t. Relations are back like they use to be. Some younger fans are still influenced by the Bryant era and you just have to ignore that. I always pull for Havelock except when we play. The night they named the field Sasser field we played them. That a tribute to the relationship our Coach Clay Jordan had with Wilbur Sasser. They were best friends. I wore a Havelock hat that night to honor the memory of Wilbur Sasser.
As for our conference now I think my favorite game is with SWE. Good rivalry and you have to play tough or lose. Good atmosphere when you go to their place. SWE98 on here is a good guy I now consider a good friend. We talk and text often. Eastern Wayne I really like. Their people were really good host when we played there this year in the new conference. I think if North Pitt will keep doing what they are doing things will get much harder with them on the field but again I enjoy going there. Good people. Good eating there too! Of all the complaints of the new classifications I have none about our conference members. I’m proud we still have 4 teams playing. Soon I won’t be able to pull for them! That means you @swe98

The conference is doing well in the playoffs. Maybe it's because of the number of 4A teams we have. It's the only non split 4A conference in the state. I'll probably make a post about it later. I don't have a problem pulling for our teams either, although it's something about Washington that has always made me frown, even from long ago. But we'll see you in two weeks Otis.
