I told my girl the game b4 this, I bet Cal gets tossed on purpose. I think this was calculated. We have been getting a crap whistle for weeks. Cal had gotten more vocal lately about crappy calls. This was a huge game and we haven't shined on the road. He absolutely did this to get a better whistle and to motivate a team who has trouble staying motivated for 40mins. Saw this coming, just didn't know when. He is a smart man and everything he does is calculated.

Yeah, I know it was 2:20 into the game, but could he have done it to get the team pumped up? I know his mentor Larry brown once did it to for cal for coaching, could cal have done it for Kenny Payne? I know it's the regular season but we need this team rolling if we want to do some damage in March. Is it possible cal went over the top with emotion today, to get his guys going today?
The 1st technical may have been on purpose. But, no way did he get thrown out of the game on purpose with more than 37 minutes left to play. Anyone who thinks that hasn't learned a damn thing about our coach.

It may not have been on purpose but what did
he think would happen after walking up to the ref midcourt following the first tech? He had to know that was a risky move. I think after the first T Cal said "F#% it" and knew he was getting tossed.

Nope,

if he did, you wouldn't have had negative reaction from the media. The whistle was insanely fast and quick. You don't see coach going crazy (at least not until the second technical).

First one was quick and second was a super quick. He was already stepping backward when he got that second tech.

No.. We have been getting a lot of fouls called against our bigs, and the other teams are allowed to be very physical and push/shove us around with no calls...
Brisco blocked out the usc player who was trying to get around him and just flat ran over murray..usc got the rebound which showed the same ol same ol. IMO cal said thats enough and let that ref have it.
In return the ref pulled a quick ejection which back fired on him for what i saw.
Dont think any league likes bad publicity like that. At one point the it was actually funny how dumb it was being called.. Usc was playing terrible and out of sorts and still got a favorable whistle..
My guess is these refs will be a little more careful on how call our games..

It might have been staged,I thought it was strange that Murray and Briscoe were holding him back.I can just see those two wink at each other and say" wonder what happens if we let him go, well only one way to find out":)

I hate to suggest it, because it sounds like advocating flopping, but it's really not. Anyway, I think our guys should help sell it when they get pushed under the basket. Just go ahead of fall down. I think it's different than what the floppers do, because if we have position and get pushed away and they get the rebound, that's an actual foul. Just helping the refs out ya know.

It's funny with cal since the Terrance jones incident when you could clearly read his lips calling him a "selfish motherfu****r" lol. He was definitely saying fu to the refs when being held back lol. It just seemed uncal like to go so quickly like that. I agree on sandstorm that is garbage plus their football coach wears a lesbian golf hat around 24/7 lol, what's not to hate about the gamecocks

Everyone knows that Doug Sirmons is one of the biggest idiots of all the SEC refs..Watch him on USC's first possession start the closely guarded 5s with Murray and Carrera..He should be reprimanded by the league

I know a thing or two about our coach and agree with other posters here that it may have been onpurpose. I, like them and you, don't know. We're simply speculating. I cold list a bunch of things I've learned about our coach but it wouldn't refute your posr anymoor than it has done so on it's own.

I don't think he got ejected on purpose. Before the game someone started a thread naming the officials and there was not a single criticism of Sirmons until after Cal was ejected, and then everyone said he has always been the worse ref ever. I would love to know what Cal said to him at the table. As you all know, I don't like fans complaining about officials, especially when they blame officials for losses. This game was horribly officiated, but it did not affect the outcome of the game. South Carolina's inability to shoot free throws early and then giving up once we had a lead did affect the outcome of the game.

Maybe Cal has a girlfriend in Columbia and just gets to see her ever couple of years? Also, I read somewhere earlier that he was not allowed to talk to the team at halftime due to his ejection, so that dispels the one guy's theory that his failure to do so shows he planned to turn it over to the assistants.

Dougie is getting some heat from some ex-coaches after today's game. An article on Yahoo had tweets from Buzz Peterson and Steve Lappas. Peterson xaid what peterson said what Sirmons did was an embarrassment to college officiating and that coaches had complained about him for years. Lappas called him ridiculous and said he would make a bad call then t up a coach when he complained. I hope the league reviews his work and bans him from working any more games.

I would love to know what the official said to h. The official said something to get that type of reaction from coach

I read somewhere earlier that he was not allowed to talk to the team at halftime

What I've read about this was Cal spoke to the team for a few minutes and told the team he was going to let the other coaches talk to them.

Murray kept hollaring at the coaches on the bench to help them. Cal was a wild man for a second.

And maybe it's that stick up your butt that makes you post like you do. Plus no one on here likes your complaining either.

no, I don't think it was intentional to get kicked out. He's sick of our guys getting slammed around with no calls
it did end up working to advantage though.

Didn't they call the foul on the USC kid? I thought they did. The foul could've easily been called on Briscoe. Probably should have been.

Where did this come from? What did I say that made you comment like an a$$? What am I complaining about. I love you guys that act like you own this place. "No one here likes..." I think plenty of people like my posts, or at least they "like" my posts fairly often. Get over yourself and have a nice night.

@Cat Fan 4 Life I know you went to the game, what do you think being there?
I do not think he did it on purpose. The first tech, probably because that was a horrendous no call and there was an over the back if I recall the play before that wasn't called. In hindsight I wouldn't blame Cal for taking credit on getting thrown out on purpose because the end result was fantastic. He definitely fired up the team as well as the crowd and it was telling to see how the players responded for their coach. As I said in my other thread, when it happened I knew good things were to come.

I think the first Technical was unexpected and he got incensed and was emotiotional and probably deserved the second Technical. He was too emotional for this to have been planned

Of course not. Murray got crushed on the play and Cal will defend his kids to the death. He lost it bc he that kind of hit belongs on a football field and instead of acknowledging that maybe he should go to the monitor and look at it, the ref T'd him up.

Personally, the SEC should drop him from the rotation of officials.

Well, I didn't see the thread. Sirmons is terrible. As Buzz Peterson sad, he is an embarrassment to college officiating. He has a short fuse and he and Cal don't like each other. You do realize he was one of the idiots officiating the Kansas game, right? Cal was allowed to talk to the team. You're as obtuse as ever.
