why would Frost replace Mario? He told us he is the best QB coach in the nation...
I sure as hell haven’t seen any improvement from the past 2 seasons have you?
Again he has to start admitting he is wrong and quit sugar coating every thing..
why would Frost replace Mario? He told us he is the best QB coach in the nation...
Agreed, we should be top 5 in assistant salaries with the talent to back it up. It's asinine to think we can win with below average assistants.I know I should stop feeding the troll, but this is nonsense. Hiring big time coordinators is how Dabo turned things around at Clemson and he had a very, very weak resume. They will come because Nebraska is still a good job. If they will be supported, given freedom and paid they will absolutely come here. If you pay them, they will come.

Professional suicide. Give me a break. They can come in and have success, you know do a good job.dabo when he hired chad morris as OC and had kevin steele as DC had a 15-12 (.555) record with 2 bowls games in 2 years before winning a conf title in year 3
if that is a "very, very weak resume" what is a 11-20 (.366) record with zero bowl games? It would likely be professional suicide for an up and coming let alone an established coordinator to come to Neb - one could probably cash some nice checks though
And Dabo was 19-15, coming off a losing season and firmly on the hot seat. It is a very good example that even you should be able to comprehend.
Because when we are presented with new evidence, we change our opinions.why would Frost replace Mario? He told us he is the best QB coach in the nation...
There isn’t a world in existence whereby comparing anything related to Scott Frost and Dabo could be cited as a good example - even by the most delusional
Are you really this stupid. Dabo was on the hot seat. He had no prior HC experience. Yet, they still attracted top flight coordinators to come to Clemson. That is the entire comparison.
So, yes you are this stupid. Thanks.Scott Frost decided he needed an upgrade at OC and WR coach to replace Walters and after sifting through all the top notch assistants that were begging to coach at Neb he went with the guy who was currently employed at a credit union somewhere in Colorado
So, yes you are this stupid. Thanks.
It’s my fault, I knew better than to try to talk football with you, but I did it anyway. Stupid, stupid mistake. Won’t happen again.I’m open minded and look forward to tracking your example comparing Frost and Dabo

let’s talk football - Dabo (your comparison not mine) decided he needed a change at OC and within 3 years that OC was a head coach at SMU and then named head coach at a SEC school and when fired landed as an OC at another SEC school
will be interesting to compare Lubricks rise through the coaching ranks after signing on with Frost
Un-shunned
My assertion was that we need to hire big time coordinators, especially on offense if Frost hopes to turn this around. No one but you would find that controversial. You said that is impossible, as Frost has a bad record at Nebraska. I never said Lubick was that guy, that is all you. In fact, I have been very clear in stating we need to get a play calling OC.
Re-shunned
My assertion is that big time coordinators aren’t going to come to Neb or work for a head coach that is in over his head - Frost already had a chance to hire a big time coordinator and after an exhaustive search of credit unions across the globe he chose Lubrick - let’s see how big time Lubrick turns out to be
He had 20 years of coaching experience before taking a year-long break from coaching, so give that a rest. I haven't been impressed with Lubbick so far, but what he did before NU isn't an issue.Scott Frost decided he needed an upgrade at OC and WR coach to replace Walters and after sifting through all the top notch assistants that were begging to coach at Neb he went with the guy who was currently employed at a credit union somewhere in Colorado - genius
I struggle to agree with jlb321 but he is dead on. What successful OC or DC is going to come here knowing Frosts record after 3 years. There are few Diacos out there and I still think they snowed him into believing he could succeed Riley.![]()

He shut down Penn State's best receiver who is likely an early round talent. He's consistently done very well covering the other team's best receiver. As for the ejection, the qb ducked his head right into him. Not much CTB could do about it. If it's not called on the field, it shouldn't be reviewable by the booth. Dumbest rule in all of sports.
Perfect Thomas, perfect !Responding to Frost’s excuse of a young team...
“There’s a saying about young players. Sometimes they get better. And sometimes they just get older. Coaching matters.”
One exception is Wandale Robinson, very big heart in a small body. And how many of those young players have one foot out the door?
Either way, Atleast on offense we are not seeing many young players do much. The offensive genius won’t get Betts involved outside of 1 sweep play a game.
But, every Big Ten team has young talent. Luckily for them, most have competent coaches as well.
What is with the infatuation of CTB? The kid has 1 freaking interception in his college career. He very rarely wraps up to make a tackle and he has been ejected from 2 games for being a dumbass who cant tackle properly. Sure he can jump and knock a ball down on occasion but he is nothing special.
Who were these coaches begging to come here?Scott Frost decided he needed an upgrade at OC and WR coach to replace Walters and after sifting through all the top notch assistants that were begging to coach at Neb he went with the guy who was currently employed at a credit union somewhere in Colorado - genius

I was being sarcastic, not always easy to convey that in text.Because when we are presented with new evidence, we change our opinions.
Happy Holidays Tuco, nice to see you on the board!Happy Holidays to you all. Be well.
Well then it's time to hire a divorce attorney.I can’t see him going after anybody. He’s married to AMart. I would be extremely shocked to see him bring in a grad transfer although we all know that is what needs to be done.
I figured as much. But even if Frost makes dumb comments like MV is the best QB on Earth, he doesn’t have to double down on it. Admit your mistake, when provided with new evidence, and move on. Huge pet peeve of mine are people that refuse to change and adapt, or admit when they made a mistake.I was being sarcastic, not always easy to convey that in text.
I find that those in positions of power rarely make public apologies. At the same time, and more importantly, making changes is the apology that matters most.I figured as much. CTB did exactly what you wanted him to. He had his head up and made the tackle. Minnesota's qb lowered his head right into him.A good hit? Get out of here. The entire groupnof DBs look stupid trying to tackle with their heads down and just diving in. When you tackle like that and cant see where you are hitting the person, you are going to get called for it. I know the refs just hate Nebraska. No thats not it at all, Nebraska just don't teach how to tackle properly. If he had his head up and even hit him with the face mask he wouldn't have been booted. You watch that play agains and you see another Husker wannabe tackler come flying across with his head down too thinking he was going to make a tackle. But he couldn't see what he was aiming at either so he completely missed and made himself look like an idiot. Yes CTB had a good game against Purdue.
Doman, Williams, Dismuke and Jaimes all got better.Yep . Just because they are young doesn’t mean that they will get better. Just look at our seniors today. Other than Stille, has anyone really improved?
I think that was absolutely a case of it looking really bad in slow motion, plus the MN kid never saw him comingCTB did exactly what you wanted him to. He had his head up and made the tackle. Minnesota's qb lowered his head right into him.

Heard a former Husker O-lineman with NFL experience say the other day that Jaimes hasn't improved much since his freshmen year.Yep . Just because they are young doesn’t mean that they will get better. Just look at our seniors today. Other than Stille, has anyone really improved?
