Why should the Sharpe camp be ashamed? Hell no they should be proud. They got everything they wanted and used UK like they knew what they were doing. This kid and his handlers should honestly be ashamed of themselves, if in fact he goes, about taking all that NIL for nothing.
And you can bet if it turns out this way, this portion of NIL will be restructured according to legality.
LOL, what? There is no NBA franchise in Kentucky, so the odds of SS buying a car from Porsche of Louisville, is very slim.It is hilarious, but you have no clue what you are talking about. Absolutely zero clue. The dealer is the LAST person who wants Sharpe to stay at UK. The dealer wants Sharpe signing a big contract ASAP. Then Sharpe will purchase cars from the dealer.
But you just keep acting like you are worried about other people instead of your selfish interests in degrading a kid just because he won’t be winning games for your team.
Were you living under a rock for the last 6 years? This board is nothing but trolls anymore. How can you be a fan of this team and continue to post nothing but negative, anti-UK nonsense. I hope Sharps comes back just to make everyone look like idiots.
Our player? If there are actually mods here, I gotta wonder at what point @CatPhight should be banned. At this point it’s essentially harrassment of our player. She seems to be a troll who supports another team trying to cause division on the board.
Sharpe will never step foot in this state again once he goes to the NBA.You must be insane if you think sharpe is going to tell an NBA teammate about his Porsche dealer and they come to lex to by one or an nba teammate bc a advertiser for them. There’s Porsche dealerships across the nation this one isn’t special lol. Idt there’s a chance if sharpe leaves Lex this year that he ever comes back bc the fans already hate him.
Irrelevant. The compensation can not be tied to play or performance.Obviously...since he never played at UK. But if you think that dealer would've sought him out with this deal if he wasn't a "UK player", then you're fooling yourself; to the point of delusion.
That's exactly what I noticed first when I saw that ad/poster.I'm sure its been mentioned but does anyone find it hilarious that they're tagline is "built on performance" when Sharpe's entire career at UK is based on him not "performing"?
I would be SHOCKED if he were given the car. I would assume it was leased to him on a short term basis. Theres no way I think Washington or Sharpe were just given these cars to keep. That's exactly what I noticed first when I saw that ad/poster.
Thing most need to keep in mind is we don't know the terms of the deal. Do we know if it was given to him (ownership) simply in exchange for the ad? Or was it loaned to him to drive while he is at UK? There are a million different options the lawyers could have negotiated with Sharpe's team. They might not have any reason to be pissed off, you know?
Either way, I will always be convinced Sharpe's "team" simply wanted to capitalize on the opportunity to get some cash, a car, publicity from UK, whatever else instead of sitting in high school for another semester. Never intended to play once the knew he was draft eligible. I doubt they care how he will be perceived by UK fans once he leaves Lexington.
Same. That's my point. Lots are just assuming he was handed the title and keys.I would be SHOCKED if he were given the car. I would assume it was leased to him on a short term basis. Theres no way I think Washington or Sharpe were just given these cars to keep.
Thats my understanding at least. Louisville's doing similar stuff. I know Sydnee Curry has an NIL deal and has a loaded Dodge Charger and Malik Cunningam's NIL deal got him a loaded out Chevy Tahoe and I'm pretty sure they're all just leases for them to use while in school.Same. That's my point. Lots are just assuming he was handed the title and keys.
That's actually a good point Grom. Hopefully I don't get struck by lightning for agreeing with you LoLIf the dealership got what they wanted, then fine. It’s not a concern to me really. What does concern me is WHAT IF THEY DIDNT GET WHAT THEY WANT?
You think it won’t hurt future NIL deals?
We don’t know. The fact of the matter is Sharpe should have never been on that bench. There’s no debating it.
That's actually a good point Grom. Hopefully I don't get struck by lightning for agreeing with you LoL
Buy here,Same. That's my point. Lots are just assuming he was handed the title and keys.
remember all the people that back in early February said that it wouldn't be a big deal if Sharpe didn't play this year because its what he said he'd do?
The dealer did not give Sharpe $1 million. The dealer actually never gave the car to Sharpe. The car was "given" to his handler Dwayne Washington, and then lent to Sharpe to use. The dealer pays the lease and insurance on the Porsche for the short time that the players are in college. It costs the dealer about $10K.LOL, what? There is no NBA franchise in Kentucky, so the odds of SS buying a car from Porsche of Louisville, is very slim.
If he gets drafted by LA, do you think he's buying cars from a dealer in Louisville?
Also, didn't he get paid a million bucks too? Where did that money come from? I thought the Porsche dealer paid that out. If so, this isn't just about a leased car. Hopefully there wasn’t an understanding that SS would play in 22/23.
I'm sure its been mentioned but does anyone find it hilarious that they're tagline is "built on performance" when Sharpe's entire career at UK is based on him not "performing"?
And it worked, he already has a net worth of half a million.Folks, the only two reasons Sharpe came here were to reap NIL benefits and build his brand.

The NBA guys do not come to Louisville to buy cars. They have their agent or rep put in the order with the exact specs the player wants and the dealer finds it and sells it to them. The car is delivered to them. Most of the cars are customized and tricked out. The dealer makes a fortune on these players.
He has some who are out of the playoffs to Derby, but has all their agents to the Derby. As I said, the dealer hates UK sports and is a huge UL donor and supporter. But to him, UK basketball is what makes his wallet fatter.
Watch out! I come out on top every now and then. My mom always told me a dog ***** up to twice a day..
I still don't think it's a big deal that he didn't play this year, but only because Cal wouldn't know what to do with him. Bringing him here for Cal's benefit only, is a big deal. It's a sleazeball move.
I don't expect the Sharpe's to not take advantage of the opportunity Cal provided to them. I don't know them. I don't know why they'd commit such a fraud as if they had no moral compass or guide, but families with star sports prospects do all kinds of screwed up and illegal things to try to "get theirs."
What I don't get is
1. UK allowing him to enroll without some agreement with athletics as to him attending classes and playing next year.
2. After all of the sht they give football prospects about eligibility and class credits transferring in, how many we've lost over the years, they let this guy walk through the door with a red carpet welcome because he's a basketball star.
3. How did Barnhart allow it, unless he stayed out of it because he knew the whole farce would give him leverage on Cal contractually?
4. Where does this fit into our expectations as a university system relative to Cal being an "embassador"? Is this part of the image they want to project?
Definitely disagree that it’s no big deal he didn’t play. That in and of itself has put UK in a very bad position both PR and program wise.
Why should the Sharpe camp be ashamed? Hell no they should be proud. They got everything they wanted and used UK like they knew what they were doing.
Cal is the one that should be ashamed, he's the one that orchestrated this and lied to us.
I think we all wish we had answers to those questions, and I don't blame Sharpe for doing what essentially any other OAD would have wanted to do.I still don't think it's a big deal that he didn't play this year, but only because Cal wouldn't know what to do with him. Adults taking the decisions of teenagers this personally is somewhat creepy to me.
You’re not interested in continuing this, but you're the one that started the whole back-and-forth with Catfight.Lol I’m good, I’m not interested in continuing this. I’m not 13. I legit assumed you were a troll from another fanbase bc it makes no sense why a real fan would do create memes of an 18yr old we want back next season. At best this is immature. If you get your jollies trying to attack the program, players, and other UK fans so-be-it. I’m just glad you aren’t someone in my circle. I stand by that this is trolling and baiting and should be grounds for banning or at least timeout. These threads serve no other purpose. Carry on…
I said she should be banned and seems to be a troll. I stand by that, but I’m not interested in a back and forth keyboard fight. Call me a *****, I don’t care…I have better things to do.You’re not interested in continuing this, but you're the one that started the whole back-and-forth with Catfight.
That's a ***** move.
But SS did get a million dollar NIL deal, where did that come from? I was under the impression it was the same Porsche dealer. The dealer did not give Sharpe $1 million. After 9-16, the very last thing you do, is lie to the most passionate fanbase in this sport and Cal did just that.? Answered your own question. Nice
I have not been shocked at Cal's lack of ashamedness since the first year he came here. Seeing the way he treated people in that first year firsthand, made sure I would never be shocked again.
Im sure he/she is happy to have you defending them. Peace outBut you're the one that started the fight, shall we go back and look?
You started throwing insults at Catfight, then, when he slapped back, you bitched out. Which is fitting, he was calling you "Karen" and from where I stand, he is right.
More like '***** out'.Im sure he/she is happy to have you defending them. Peace out
Never happened.I went and bought a Porsche, nice car!! It's got a little griddy up.
