And the anti-CAL are rushing to the cliff
We’re not the ones rationalizing and normalizing none-and-done. The pumpers are. Cal had turned us into AAU and you still support him. You have to be ******* brainwashed at this point to believe a word Cal says. Supporting Cal is supporting none-and-done because Calipari is allowing it to happen.

I think you have that backwards.
when is the next NBA contract up
the guys that contracts end the year before the new NBA contact can either sign for what they know may be less or sign a 1 year deal and hope they do not get hurt and then sign for the new max

I posted this in another thread but going by the mock drafts that came out last night Tyty is projected #9 and Jaden Hardy is projected #17th so one player is benefiting from the UK experience and another is floundering with G league coaching/culture. The Athletic just posted a piece where Tyrese Maxey attributes most of his NBA success to being at UK and in that pressure environment growing as a player. Sharpe's handler has spoken at length about Sharpe playing the long game for that 3rd NBA contract that makes you $100 Million plus like John Wall and Anthony Davis. It will be hard to turn down top 10 draft money but I also think the decision to return to UK next year is a lot more likely than several others in this thread think as the kid has a mature perspective about his prospective career.

Saying no to SS committing to UK , and saying no to SS committing to UK, arriving early, saying he is playing next season, sitting the bench, using the UK brand, and exiting without playing one single minute, IS TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANIMALS!

Not one coach, not K, not Self, not Pearl, not Pitino, no other coach other than one John V. Calipari would even consider such ridiculous BS!

And that is why SS is sitting on the UK bench, and not anywhere else.

Honestly I don't see an issue with him coming early. If the plan is to play next year, than the experience he is getting by being around the team in practice can only help his development and his readiness for next season. Not to mention the fact that him practicing with the team is probably helping other players currently on the team develop as well.

23-24 so waiting would have no effect on SS's second contract.

If he’s truly a lottery pick he’d be a fool not to go. Sorry not sorry.

Would any of you all play if you were in his position? I sure as heck wouldn’t! Guaranteed millions vs the chance of getting injured or exposed. Best of luck to him!

I’m glad he’s at UK too, and I have no issues with him leaving this summer, but play now, and if the excuse is he isn’t ready, then he’s not ready for the NBA, and he should return to UK next season.

However, the scenario that’s playing out, where he leaves without ever playing is totally unacceptable, I don’t care who the coach is. But that’s my feelings and others are entitled to their own personal opinions.

The No. 1 overall pick will earn roughly $26.4 million in his first 3 years in the league. The No. 8 pick will earn roughly $13.1 million over the same period.

True but there is no #1 guarantee and SS will most likely be top 6. The bigger issue is he would get to that 4th year contract a year sooner and effectively extend his career by a year. You really haven't addressed that. It more than negates waiting a year and even going #1.

The same people who screaming for him to play this season will be screaming he betrayed us leaving early (because they screamed for him to play).🤪

TyTy should milk this sprained ankle until the end of the season and never play another minute of college ball.
This is what I’ve learned from the “true” fans that aren’t miserable people living miserable lives.
He shouldn’t risk his future. Just like Sharpe.
This is what it’s all about, going to the nba and we shouldn’t care or be upset about it.
I’ve learned all of this in the last week reading all of the threads on Sharpe.
If Sharpe isn’t going to play to protect his draft position, then TyTy, based on the same logic, should absolutely not return to the court. He could sustain another injury or go into a slump and have his stock fall.

I am not advocating that he do this. I’m just saying if one is cool with Sharpe not playing, they should be just as cool with TyTy sitting the rest of the season.

I won’t be mad at Sharpe. I’ll be livid at his lying *** handlers though.

Will never play a minute, IMO

If this guy came to Kentucky with handlers, he will not play a minute at Kentucky. This is those guys meal ticket. If he is projected top 10 in the draft his handlers will not risk him getting hurt or exposed as not being as good as advertised, you know like Boston. Oh and by the way, has he even graduated from high school ? If he hasn't he is not eligible to play at Kentucky anyway. Hearing a lot of people on here, you would think he is a combination of Doctor J, Larry Bird, Wilt Chamberlain, and Anthony Davis all rolled up into one player. I have been watching College basketball for a long time, and have never saw a player that has never played a college game come in and automatically be this kind of a player, and Sharpe will not be either. Like CarolinsCat, I don't believe he will ever play a game at Kentucky.

You need to take history into account more. Read more scoff less. Calipari has NEVER done such a thing. Not with a lottery pick.
Idk if sharpe will play or stay or leave or whatever but u need to quit saying that cal has never let a projected lottery pick return. Terrence jones was projected lottery and he came back and don’t bring up the lockout, that didn’t stop Brandon knight from making the leap.

As a matter of fact, Sebastian Telfair teased Pitino about playing at U6 and then bolted overseas, and Rick swore never to go after a top recruit again. So you're right.

But the REASON Jones returned WAS because of the lockout. Sorry that fact inconveniences your narrative. Because, you see, Cal made an exception because of the lockout. That was an outlier.

Furthermore, with Teague coming in the following season, there was no room for Knight so Cal kicked him out. Not the same story for Jones.

Difference is, Tyty has had to play and prove his way into the lotto and top 10. Sharpe is projected there without seeing a second on the college court.

How creepy is it that people would waste so much negative energy on an 18 year old kid that they've never met and will never meet that plays a game? CREEPY.

What’s creepy is there are about 5-10 of you here that really have no business doing so. If you don’t care about Kentucky basketball being in the best position to win, then why are here pretending to be a fan. You’re not a fan, so just log off and go fishing.

Cult Cal is circling the wagons in this thread already.

It’s amazing. I’ve never, ever, seen a fan base so ready to enjoy and not care about being in the best position possible to win. And not only do they not care, they ADVOCATE for it. The Cal Cult is really bizarre, and it’s such a shame that we are at a point where winning is not the top priority and anyone is okay with that. What universe are we in? How did this happen?

Man, Calipari is one of, if not the best, salesman in the world. He’s made a segment of UK fans not only have no interests in winning at the highest levels, but defending his right to do so, while he’s making 10 million per year. I’m not trying to be an *******, but that’s about as ***** as it gets.

I wonder if Calipari could convince Yankee fans that there’s more to life than baseball as an excuse?

Be UK fans. Like Cal if you want but good lord have some self respect and pick your damn tongue up.

Im sorry but this is nonsense. Where is Gonzo? Players don’t improve by returning to college, right?

Sorry man, this is Cal Cult entry level nonsense.

man you even spin the facts
it must be painful to root for a team when you hate their coach so much

BTW i am sure you read the thread where SS camp said pretty much what i just told you
