I did not watch this podcast as it is very long but I was told that Goodman actually said that Holloway, next to Cooley, is on the hot seat in the Big East.
He has to be kidding. That will be one of the dumbest comments you will hear all summer long,
Agreed. like MQ for next season but I think Nova’s front line could be awesome if that Luigi kid is everything he’s cracked up to be. A 7’3 dude who apparently might have been taken in the first round if Nova didn’t convince him to stay.I listened to the whole thing. The point about Sha on the hot seat was ridiculous. A bad season and Sha isn't on the hot seat, the entire athletic department and mission should be on the hot seat.
IMHO, they overrate Marquette and really underrate Villanova.
Sha is never going to be on the hot seat here IMO.I listened to the whole thing. The point about Sha on the hot seat was ridiculous. A bad season and Sha isn't on the hot seat, the entire athletic department and mission should be on the hot seat.
IMHO, they overrate Marquette and really underrate Villanova.
I’ve said this before, but when Cooley and Pitino were basically hired at the same time to resurrect former blue chip programs that had been mired in a long period of mediocrity, I don’t think anyone would have e predicted that Cooley’s tenure would go as it has so far. They’ve gone in diametric paths.Sha's seat is frosty cold. But Cooley is another matter. If he has another bad season, Georgetown's going to be researching replacements. But a buyout, even for the Hoyas, might be prohibitive in the short term
Bryan Felt has never fired a coach in his entire career as AD. I don’t foresee his first firing would be Sha. He has a long leash that I think he has earned given his circumstances.Sooo 7-25, 2-18 again and he’s not on the hot seat??? Woof
Outside of Evan Robert’s the entire wfan lineup is far worse than both those two. On a side I didn’t realize Evan was a seton hall fan.He is an idiot. Only Chris Russo is worse.
He, as well as the entire athletic department and mission, would then be on the hot seat but he's not now.Sooo 7-25, 2-18 again and he’s not on the hot seat??? Woof
Thats a good and fair question. Interesting debateWhere did teams finish in their conference w the same budget as ours?
I could.I’ve said this before, but when Cooley and Pitino were basically hired at the same time to resurrect former blue chip programs that had been mired in a long period of mediocrity, I don’t think anyone would have e predicted that Cooley’s tenure would go as it has so far. Of course it is. And it’s only going to get worse if SHU doesn’t find more money. And more money doesn’t guarantee success but SHU has to have resources similar to top half of BE for a fair evaluation of Holloway.Look at these 6 coaching careers in the BE. All were coaches that took over schools with varying degrees of recent success. The first 5 coaches were fired in the last 4 years after their 3rd or 4th seasons of not making the NCAAT.
The 6th Coach has kept his job and heads into Year 5 at Seton Hall.

The coaches above are Neptune, English, Steele, Anderson, Matta & Sha. Would anyone argue the first 5 coaches shouldn't have been fired?
Just looking at the results, a strong argument could be made that Sha is a bit lucky to have a 5th season. Obviously, there are other factors and he is not on the hot seat. Goodman is wrong. He's not factoring Sha's power at Seton Hall or the fact that he's been seriously underfunded.
Question is, should he be, or are lack of RS/NIL resources a legitimate excuse for not making the NCAAT?
Is that good or bad?Sha is never going to be on the hot seat here IMO.
There are still a handful of credible ones out there, but for every good one there are at least ten blowhard click-baiting morons. There are no great college sports journos anymore...Just click bait matter that passes as content for consumption
I am gonna trust SPK.I listened to the whole thing. The point about Sha on the hot seat was ridiculous. A bad season and Sha isn't on the hot seat, the entire athletic department and mission should be on the hot seat.
IMHO, they overrate Marquette and really underrate Villanova.
Chris is a genius. He is an idiot. Only Chris Russo is worse.
Pitino significantly outperforming him is no surprise. We have to get over our friarenvy.I’ve said this before, but when Cooley and Pitino were basically hired at the same time to resurrect former blue chip programs that had been mired in a long period of mediocrity, I don’t think anyone would have e predicted that Cooley’s tenure would go as it has so far. “He has done more with less NIL money than most coaches not only in the BE but nationally as well.” This might be the most asinine thing I’ve ever heard. Most all coaches have the potential to be on a hot seat. But in Holloway's case that happening, if ever, will be very far down the road. He has done more with less NIL money than most coaches not only in the Big East but nationally as well.
Even the bump up of a rumored $10M amount still has the Hall near the bottom of the league.
His human interest stories are excellent. We have our own in Jerry Carino. Not just in covering NJ sports but his human interest stories which take an incredible amount of time to vet are first rate.
if he had sj's center last yr he would have beaten sju twice, not lost a number of other BE games and made the tourney easily. If he had UConn’s or St John’s roster he would not succeed. Do you think his offensive scheme would suddenly flourish?
You have something negative to say against Seton Hall or Coach Sha all the time! Why?If he had UConn’s or St John’s roster he would not succeed. Do you think his offensive scheme would suddenly flourish?
