Come on. Before today's game, were you truly confident that the Cats were a S16 team? Stop it. You can love your team and be realistic at the same time.
See, right now, and for quite some time, UK has been playing teams that are very familiar with them, that won't be the case in the NCAAT.
Remember how UK looked before conference play? There was a reason for that.
Have you not paid attention to Cal's tenure here. Last season was the only one that his team didn't go to at least the elite 8, that is the teams that went to the tournament. He had some teams that stunk the place up too. john wall's team had to hit a buzzer beater to beat Miami of Ohio at home. 2014 2011. Can't give up on freshmen till it is over and that is Real
Sometimes UK teams have been unpredictable from one game to the next. THIS UK team is unpredictable from one half to the next.
I like our chances as good as Duke's or anyone else's. Everyone in the country has issues. Well, except Gonzaga and they will be exposed

Why are you trolling posts from a week ago anyway? I didn't hear you saying any of this stuff at the time of the post. Why not? Because I was right maybe? Did you fail to see the words RIGHT NOW after I said we weren't very good? Nice selective reading on your part. Try reading the entire post next time instead of picking stuff out just because your trolling and want to be a smartass.

Just ignore him, he's just trolling posts that are over a week old just trying to start ****. He's just picking and choosing what he wants to read. He picked mine out and ignored the fact that I said RIGHT NOW when I was talking about the team and that I said there was still plenty of time to turn it around. He's just trolling being an ***.
I normally err on the side of negative but I think this team is getting it together. The kool aid is tasting pretty good tonight.
Not with my post you did not. You waited until the team looked good and thought you would come back and start some ****. That's exactly what you're doing.
You didn't respond to my post until today. Still there was nothing untrue about my post. I said we were not good RIGHT NOW and we were not at the time of my post. We took a big step today and that's exactly what I said was possible.
If you're wanting to go defend the team against posters who bash, you're talking to the wrong guy. Go read some of my posts and you'll see that I'm not that guy. I don't bash the team or Cal at all.
Well if you didn't bash I apologize. I didn't respond until today because we didn't play well THAT NIGHT! I responded to a few negative Nancy's tonight. We, and I include myself have to learn to trust Cal he starts over about every year but come March we are in the conversation. that is all you can ask for
I see your point but that's a poor example. That was Wall's very 1st game in a uniform. A better example would be losing late in the season in 2011 and 2014.
I've said many times on this forum that it's a process and with Cal's teams, you have to let the entire process play out. With that said, it's ok to give an assessment of how the team looks at any given time. I think that's what most of us where doing, at least the ones you've chosen to quote today. I said that they weren't a good team right now and they were not a good team at that moment when I wrote the post. I also made it very clear in the next sentence that there was still time to turn it around. I never said that it was a "final" assessment and they were never going to be a good team. I never said anything of the sort. Yet you come and quote me and say Newsflash, they're getting better. Yeah, and? That's what we said was possible and as of RIGHT NOW, they look a lot better than they have in the past few weeks. That doesn't mean they're going to win the championship. It goes both ways. I just think you're starting with guys who aren't the ones you're looking for, that's all. We never said anything bad about the team.

Buddy, I'm right there with ya. We are on the same side here. It's a process and it's a season long process until the tournament. I can't understand how people don't realize this if they've been watching the Cats since Cal has been here. We are always young, so we need the entire year to get ready. I get it and I'm completely on board with your point. I was just giving my assessment of what they looked like at that moment and what was possible (however unlikely, it is at least a possibility as is anything) if they didn't change things around. Luckily, they looked like they made a big stride today. I was so pleased with their fight today. They fought the entire game at every possession. That's what I wanted to see more than anything. I hope they can build on it and continue making strides over the next couple weeks before the tournament. Today was a good day!
This. If one of our three-point shooters (Monk, Willis or Gabriel basically) isn't going off we are a very very vulnerable team... especially if the opponent has a quick guard with a sweet jumper. Look, like all of BBN, I hope this team makes a great run in the NCAAT... and it could happen. But it doesn't hurt to be realistic about the chances.
