Big 10 and Big 12 just announced they will play their tournaments with no fans.

It’s inevitable that the SEC will do it for the rest of the tournament. Might as well resign yourself if you planned to go tomorrow or Friday.

Stopping a pandemic from turning into an epidemic in a country that is not prepared to to handle such a thing because of its geographical size and massive population not to mention its inefficient government no matter which party is in charge, is not some vast global liberal conspiracy to hurt the president.

Just because Rush says it doesn’t make it true.

To the topic, I feel bad for the fans who went, but at the end of the day I can’t do a damn thing about it but watch the games on TV from the weird empty arena.

Maybe not but there’s plenty of liberal twitter pushers who want Trump removed under the 25th amendment because of this outbreak like anyone else could do better. The left really will use any excuse they can to get him impeached or not re-elected.

I’m not making this political but it’s been proven over four years that the Dems will never credit the president, work with him, and use anything they can to hurt him. I’ve never seen another president in my lifetime who dealt with a worse Congress and media.

I’m fully aware. Blaming a politician for an epidemic is as dumb as blaming a president for gas prices. I’m also aware the “right” will use any excuse they can to ensure he’s re-elected and every action regardless of whether it’s good or bad is praised and excused.

Politics are just team sports with a bunch of ******** and no ball. The team in charge plays defense by accusing the other team of underhanded tactics and the team wanting to be in charge keeps taking shots from all over the court by any means necessary.

This same thing happened with Clinton vs right; Bush II vs left; Obama vs. right; Trump vs left. It’s been like this for a while and it sadly keeps getting worse each cycle.

I’ve never seen a president have to deal with more crap than this one is the main point. You are correct overall that parties use what they can for gain though.

I think if it goes okay tonight they will keep the SECT open to fans.
PS Frank Martin thinks differently.
I think there is zero chance fans will be allowed in after tonight. Big 10 and Big 12 have already made the decision. No way SEC sticks their neck out now.

Didn't congress just allocate him far more money for this outbreak than what he had even requested? Sounds like they are going beyond to work with him when they can.

If you honestly think no president has had it worse, you are either very young or have been living with blinders on. Every president in the last 40 years has had it worse than Trump. Republicans and Democrats.

Congressional leaders were trying for weeks to get the president to actually acknowledge it was happening and then ramp up the precautionary steps to try to avoid the mess we are in now. He refused. I don't even have that much of an issue with Trump, but the ball was dropped big time on this.

I am not a fan of his and I actually agree with you. to an extent. The guys who were assassinated had it worse. (To be fair, I thought he was a shady POS con man when he was a liberal NYC Democrat in the 80s, 90s and 00s.)

My guess is it will only get worse for the next president. And worse than that for the president after that. The social media age has ruined civility and enabled the rapid spread of false information (BOTH ways). The worms won’t go back in the can.

This is insanity.

All people who disagree with me politically are better off dead.

I couldn’t imagine being this much in the tank for one political party or the other.
Baby killing is insanity

This shot is no worse than the flu, anything to tank the economy, trying to hurt Trump. This is not the country I grew up loving and willing to die for. The media has sunk to an all time low.

It's crazy that the media has been working with 110 countries around the world to try and take down President Trump. I mean, we could expect Iran and China to sacrifice their citizens to accomplish that but I didn't think Italy would. Or Scandinavia too. /S

Get over yourself if you think this virus has anything to do with our president. That's incredibly self-centered.

Most of those hotel rooms are not refundable now, at this point, so the fans are still going, they just won't be in the arena. May actually be better for local business in the end. Fans will be in the restaurants and bars instead

It sucks for attendees, workers and businesses but not nearly as bad as the people who are in declining health. The only thing 16 states and event organizers know for sure is that ignorance is not a plan.

He was trying to prevent any further panic. The chicken littles love to have doomsday material to talk about in the banks and grocery stores. You seem upset that he didn't pull out a megaphone and yell that the world is ending.

Someone needs to explain to me how it's better for thousands of fans to gather in bars than in arenas to watch the game. If this threat was serious they'd all be shut down.

I love my basketball but health has to come first.Instead of the silly fighting over politics we should be hoping this doesn't get worse. It's worse for older folks and I'm worried about my mom and other older people.I've been buying food and picking up meds for
elderly neighbors so they don't have to get out.I wish more people would think of this.

Last flu season the CDC said 34,000 people died in the US. The prior flu season the number was 61,000. US Coronavirus deaths are about 33...banning spectators wasn’t even a consideration in either of those years. Should people take precautions if they’re at risk of most any infectious disease? Yes they should, but to play games before zero people isn’t the answer. Everyone will just watch at a bar, with a crowd, and the end resulting effect of the change will be similar to the number of attendees...zero.

Showing endless pics of empty arenas will produce more shocking news coverage than shutting down the Wagon Wheel.

My wife blamed me tonight for voting for trump because her mom lost money in the stock market today because of his, “lack of response to this virus”. I mean this went from me asking her a question about my daughter’s work schedule to her shouting at me to admit trump is to blame. Lol.
