That was a really crappy loss.

Now we have to cheer on Arkansas to get a good seed

I may be wrong, but I think anything from 4th to 10th is still possible, some much more unlikely than others.

I think for 4th to happen, of course we have to beat Florida, Vandy has to beat UT, Ark beat Missouri, LSU beat TAMU (so for all that to happen is <5% chance, .3*.6*.5*.3=2.7%).
See above. LSU doesn’t have to beat TAMU

Might want to play on Wednesday. Pile up a few wins on the bottom feeders getting warmed up for the better teams.
Lol. According to Pope our guys are fatigued playing a Saturday to Tuesday turnaround, so how we expect them to play 3-4 in a row?

The scenario is we might win one game, and then we are done.
That is the only scenario that matters.

For a lot of those Cal years, the SEC wasn't nearly what it is now.

As far as the NIL stuff, we don't know what the other schools spent. We don't even know if what was reported that we spent is entirely accurate.

Having a high payroll in sports certainly helps, but it doesn't garanttee anything. Ask the New York Yankees in the last decade or so lol.
Isn't Cal currently 3rd in the current SEC though?

I miss the days when we were the #1 seed in the SEC tourney and would win pretty much every season.

This Pope era stuff sucks.

Pope doesn't seem to want to win anything that matters here.
He’s winning the Lots-o-Money-In-Bank-Account Award. And isn’t what really matters? We gave generational wealth to so many young underprivileged kids under Cal, why not give some to an awkward Mormon coach from Utah? He deserves it.

I think God can coach this team and those days probably aren't coming back sadly.

Everytime we'd play an SEC team they always post the stats........oh UK is like 100-13 vs UGA or Vandy.

Times have changed tho. Even if we do hire a better coach and get back to UK basketball, the playing field will have been leveled a bit.

So what you are saying is I am going to have to take a vacation day on Wednesday.

Jack Pilgrim will need to go back to math class he said if Kentucky beat Vanderbilt they would have a 99% chance of avoiding Wednesday.

Some can’t grasp this. Runs like 93-98 and 2010-15 are not the norm at UK. They were both incredibly special times.

Hopefully we can achieve that again soon (historical patterns say there’s a chance in the 2030s). But 6 schools no longer hoard all the talent and nationally televised games.

This SEC ain’t Pitino or early Cal’s SEC where it was us and maybe 3 other decent teams while the rest of the league went 7-22.

The key is finding an innovator. That always been our thing. From Rupp embracing the fast break, Hall introducing weight training in an era when the game was played in the post, Pitino embracing the 3 point shot and full court pressure defense to Cal embracing OAD to blend can’t miss NBA draft picks with solid role players. Right now, we’re reactionary to everyone else.

If we play on Wednesday, then there is no way we make it to the championship. Pope cries about his players playing too many minutes so how in the world would he sub during the tournament. Can't say how bad it is when UK, Kentucky basketball, the all-time winningest program is playing on Wednesday.

Ok and hear me out: without UK fans the arena would be 1/3 full for all the games. Let's flex some muscle and tell the SEC "We are UK by damn! We'll be playing on Saturday so we'll see everyone then. Otherwise we're out!"
