Those challenges take some thought actually if you've seen or watch MLB very much. You don't want to burn them all by the third inning and then have nothing in a high leverage situation at the end of the game

Glad BOC didn’t bring his pitching coach with him. Missouri having no one up in the pen and the starter struggling tells me their pc formerly of Virginia is a dumbass!

RPI-wise, is it better for us to beat Ole Miss and lose to Georgia or beat Missouri and lose to Georgia? I guess losing to MIZZ would be the worst case scenario.

In fairness to the UMiss catcher, I'm sure that pitch has been a strike all season.

From the look on his face in the other thread, it looked like he was just thrilled to be able to challenge. Like he'd made his mind up ahead of time, "I'm challenging the first close one."

I kind of feel for the umpires. The next guy is going to overcompensate, and the batters will have a high win percentage on challenges. The catcher has the best view of all four involved.

This is true. The catcher has a better view than the umpire and will probably be correct on more challenges. They are set up directly behind the plate, while the umpire is set up over one of his shoulders and his view is not directly straight on, which could lead to missing calls on either the inside or outside edge.
