I think this has went so well, it will be implemented in next years SEC games. It only takes a few seconds and can be a game changer all in the name of just making the correct call. I like it.

If you've watched any MLB games most everyone loves it. The only strategic piece of it is managing the two challenges you get.

That's fine. Batters already have plenty of advantages in the college game. A consistent zone is the key. They don't need to feel like they have to chase balls off the plate because they don't trust the ump.

This, I love an expansive strike zone so long as it's generally consistent. Tight strike zones are bad baseball.

How do batters have an advantage? 30% success will get you in the HoF. I like it too, just curious what the advantages are.

But how much does it cost to implement it for an entire season?

MLB can afford it. College baseball can't....or won't, because of it not being a money-making sport.

I was wondering the same thing. How does the infrastructure for this work and what's the cost? Presumably they could incorporate the hawkeye system that all parks have, correct?

I think the odd part about it is the SEC is the only League testing it out in tournament play right now

If you’re going to have amped up metal bats you better have a big strike zone. Otherwise get ready for a lot of 20-16 games with a lot of walks because pitchers are terrified to throw a strike.

The real answer is wood bats & a traditional strike zone. Only way college baseball ever has a chance to get widespread support.

I looked it up. Professional level install costs $100k per stadium. Peanuts.

If Double-A minor league parks can afford it, it should be nothing for SEC / Power 4 programs to adopt it, and also to utilize it in the CWS at a minimum. I’d honestly make it part of the regional / super regional hosting criteria, and make it mandatory for the entire NCAA postseason.

If you can’t afford a $100k system in an era where college athletes are individually getting $5-7 million for a single season of play, then, tough shít.
