HC Scott Frost should of seen this coming when the kid goes to three different high schools and even gets evicted out of a so called Christian school his senior year. He will have many more "issues" if we don't cut him loose now. Plus he will be a cancer to the rest of the team. Most of us gave him the benefit of the doubt on this porn charge but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. Unless he manifests a huge dose of repentance, he's gone...

Yeah, let's shrug our shoulders on the porn charge but crucify him for a paraphernalia charge. Smart.

I guess the Huskers should kick him off the team so he can go play for the Colorado Buffaloes where he'd be just fine.
Or Michigan, California, Oregon, Washington... but not Oklahoma. They frown on pot smoking down there, but punching women is OK (as long as video doesn't surface).

I have to wonder how many posters here have ever smoked pot in their lives? Just seems like a lot of folks passing a very negative judgment in this thread so I assume none of the posters here have ever done it. Right?

FWIW - Recreational marijuana also is now fully legal in 11 states including California where he faces a court appointment in a week.

Yes, a lot of us have smoked pot on this board. No, I don’t think many of us would smoke pot when we are already involved in another legal case. I don’t think Washington is currently showing good judgement. Anyone with half a brain should know to keep a low profile and not do anything stupid. He failed this big time.

ESPECIALLY in Nebraska. We are one of the most taxed states but because King TO says so we cant legalize weed and give the potheads what they want and everyone else some much need tax breaks. I love my Huskers but I'll be leaving asap for somewhere that doesnt bleed their tax payers dry.
on a different subject, but don't kid yourself, they
could tax it at 1000 percent and the politicians still wouldn't give any tax relief. They don't think that way. They'd just find more ways to spend money to buy more votes. My dad used to say you can NEVER give a politician enough money.

Just glad the paraphernalia was empty! He should just get a slap on the wrist and be ready for fall. It was probably left by some other friend not on the football team. This is a non story, please move along.

It would be more of non issue if it wasn’t for his charge of having kidding porn in his position..

Just didn’t need fuel already on the fire..

Kick Mo off the team for the text/porn thing that occurred before he was on the team? - Nope

Kick Mo (or any other player) off the team for the drug paraphernalia thing? - Nope

But when you're facing legal issues, it's pretty dumb to do something that you know is illegal and could get you into more trouble. So to me it's not the two acts, but the pattern of poor decision making by Mo. I don't see how Frost can allow him to stay on the team at this point. One can't preach about doing things the right way, wanting high character players, etc., and let this slide.

And on another note, will the person who keeps correcting the "road" scholar comment please stop! Did you not see the winking emoticon, or do you not understand sarcasm/humor?

Couple of questions that might have been asked already. I didn't take the time to scroll through all pages.
1) UNL is in the summer semester, correct? Does anyone know what the occupancy in the dorms is like right now?
2) how many people on this board would, while living in the dorms during a summer semester, smell weed and decide they better call the cops?
3) he received a citation. Does anyone know what the citation for paraphernalia is equivalent to?

I'm not impressed that this has happened as his sentencing date approaches, but I've been on a college campus during the summer, and it was a lot more chill than during the fall and spring semesters. I would like to know the story before I decide how I feel about this. Maybe someone asked him to cut it out because it was bothering their asthma, and he told them to F off. Maybe he was minding his own business, someone walked by and smelled it, and they went back to their room and called the cops. Maybe he was selling it out of his dorm room and stacking cash in his mini-fridge. I'd like to know before I make a judgement.

Without reading the entire thread and I am sure this has already been posted....

Really???, what kind of pansie calls the cops because they smell pot. In fact if they were so pure how do they know what pot smells like. 90 % of professional athletes smoke pot, heck it's better than ruining your body drinking or popping pills. I see this kid doing nothing wrong here

unfortunately this isn't about the weed. That isn't what would lead to his dismissal. It is the fact that he doesn't seem to be able to make good decisions. The pipe possession charge isn't what would get him dismissed, it is the series of bad decisions.
Is he being charged with something, or was he just cited and ticketed? Is there a difference? Asking for my own clarification.

In terms of Mo's status with the program, what you see as wrong/not wrong is irrelevant. I also see nothing wrong with partaking. But I'm pretty sure hitting the chronic is verboten wrt the football program. And in any event, Mo seemingly exercised poor judgement in terms his choice of venue for such shenanigans.

Lets be honest. It was 1 in the morning. Mo shares a room with 3 other football players. Probably safe to assume the "3" other people were his room mates. Gonna go out on a really thick limb and say its not the 1st 2nd or 3rd time that their neighbors complained about loud music or the smell of weed. He just gave his neighbors a perfect excuse to call the campus police. He is an idiot who only cares about himself.

What?? I am going to guess low here and say that 75% of the guys on the team take the pot...I will guess that 95% of the guys on the team drink. This is not being toxic.
Think your weed #s are extremely high at least according to this article. Its say 25%. Your drinking percentage might be a bit more accurate. Not that is matters one way or the other. Illegal is Illegal, doesn't matter if we agree with it or not.

Another point.....even in states where weed is legal, its NOT legal for a 19 year old. Legal age is still 21.

So here is the dilemma. If we keep him, we are going to be severely criticized, and probably rightfully so. If we release him, he goes somewhere else and gets a “2nd chance“ and has a good career with another school. We lose either way.

Honestly, just as long as it’s not the NCAA, I could careless what others think. Other teams and fans will want players with the talent like Mo Washington has gone and in a hurry. For one, then they then have shot to get him and claim “Oh, it was a mistake he made while a Husker and we hope he’s learned from it”. Again, I don’t give a crap what others may say. If Moos and Frost can keep him, in anyway, they need to. Players with that talent don’t come around often. Remember, it’s all about the wins. If having Mo Washington leads us to hearing constant BS from other fans but we win a BIG title or get into the playoffs...I’d have to assume, we’d take it. I’m not saying that’s what will happen, just making a point....and if we ever want to get that far...we need players with his talent.

Really making some big assumptions there about what did or didn't happen between neighbors.
