Didnt even find weed (he smoked it) but just the pipe? Christ get out of the stone age and legalize and tax the hell out of that stuff already. Anyone that plays football at a higher level should be able to utilize any natural pain reliever available to them.

I agree entirely but have to look at it given the reality of the current context.
I think he’s showing his character, and it’s not about any principle belief for him, but rather unchecked selfishness.

I disagree with the overall sentiment ITT. Yes, he should keep his nose clean, but we're talking about a pipe here. This is weed, not crack. Stupid, yes. Unforgivable, no.

He has demonstrated a long pattern of stupid/immature behavior. At some point you have to draw a line and hope he can turn his life around somewhere else.

What college kid narcs on another for the smell of weed?

It actually happened to me and I was charged the same way in a college dorm 4-20-99.
The difference is that I didn’t have 150 teammates and entire fanbase (or college scholarship) relying on me for anything.

Amen. I almost overdosed on opioids when I injured my back. Addictive as hell. Big pharma doesn't want pot legal so they can keep making billions. Legalize and tax it already.

Said before and I will say it again, he's damn lucky I ain't the one making the decision about his eligibility. He'd have been gone before this if it were up to me, now he's left the University no choice.
I don't know if his release is imminent just yet, but it probably being discussed heavily.

I'm about as anti-pot as it gets, but I also understand the reality of our society. This shows another lack of judgement by an immature college student but is not worthy of dismissal IMO. Now Frost and the administration may have a different view but IMO, he pays the fine and deals with his other issues then we'll see where he's at. Stupid is right.

Heroin is a natural pain reliever as well....but otherwise I agree.

HC Scott Frost should of seen this coming when the kid goes to three different high schools and even gets evicted out of a so called Christian school his senior year. He will have many more "issues" if we don't cut him loose now. Plus he will be a cancer to the rest of the team. Most of us gave him the benefit of the doubt on this porn charge but this is the straw that broke the camel's back. Unless he manifests a huge dose of repentance, he's gone...

In this case, I'm asking myself "what would Tom do?'. Personally I don't have a problem with suspending him indefinitely until things get sorted out. Keep him in school. Give him the structure and peer guidance he so desperately needs and see what he does with it. I don't think Mo would be a "cancer" at all. Then oh say about the Ohio State game reinstate him if all goes well.....Winking

So called? Why so called?

I make no excuses for his behavior. Pot is illegal here. But lets not pretend he the only guy on the team to ever smoke a bowl. Weed is no where near the same thing as porn.

I agree in your corner, I’ve just seen how a simple thing like weed screws up a person but to each his own. The kid needs to grow up now!!!

ESPECIALLY in Nebraska. We are one of the most taxed states but because King TO says so we cant legalize weed and give the potheads what they want and everyone else some much need tax breaks. I love my Huskers but I'll be leaving asap for somewhere that doesnt bleed their tax payers dry.

On the one hand, IDGAF if people do weed. On the other hand, these things:

1) You know it's illegal in the state you're in and per NCAA rules and you're going to be tested for it
2) You're already in hot water legally
3) It's easier than ever to do weed without needing to run around with bongs and pipes
4) Lincoln is practically the nation's capital for bored cops out looking for any kind of police work to do

Yet knowing all this, you manage to get caught with what I'll assume was a pipe without reading the article. DUMB, bro. Really dumb.

I have to wonder how many posters here have ever smoked pot in their lives? Just seems like a lot of folks passing a very negative judgment in this thread so I assume none of the posters here have ever done it. Right?

FWIW - Recreational marijuana also is now fully legal in 11 states including California where he faces a court appointment in a week.

#1. High school kid sent a sex video of his former girlfriend to his former girlfriend and makes a dumb remark.
#2. College kid gets caught with weed residue and a pipe but no weed.

1 + 2 = Life ruined

Quite the display of perspective here

I agree with most, doesn't seem worth the trouble when we have kids willing to work their tails off to help the team. Shame, kid's talented and fun to watch.

College football career at NU may be ruined, but life? Get real. He's 19. Hopefully he gets his act together and contributes to society (pays taxes) down the road.

I am pro weed, but I am sick of this kid and don’t think there’s any question he should be kicked off the team. He’s a toxic teammate and has no concept of putting his team/family first above his petty teenage desires.
He was already on thin ice and to be disrespectful of his situation is spitting in the face of Frost. Direct spit in the face saying “F you Coach and F all you’ve done for me”.
See ya dude.
I wish him the best of luck moving forward, but our program is fragile enough already.
Let’s hope Rhamir can step in and show us something special.

What?? I am going to guess low here and say that 75% of the guys on the team take the pot...I will guess that 95% of the guys on the team drink. This is not being toxic.
