The Alex Wilcox decal is a really nice touch. I have a feeling that halftime ceremony on Saturday is going to be tough to sit through.

That stripe is the damn black/blue or gold/white dress. I thought it looked gray, but now I'm thinking maybe it's white and it's just the lighting. Either way, I'm OK with a single stripe on the helmet like that.

If it’s gray then it’s a very subtle gray. I still think it may be white. We will find out tomorrow. Either way, I like it.

You always lead with the stars. If the flag is on the right side of the helmet, the star field should be in the upper right hand corner. Think about if he was holding a flag pole and moving forward into the wind....how would the flag look?

It's less of a deal because it's on the back of the helmet, but it still isn't following protocol.

I may be an Eagle Scout but our only flag patch was always on the left shoulder. My flag etiquette trailed off after that, & I've always been more aware of actual flag protocol than renditions of it.

P. S. A pet peeve of mine are clothes that are made to look like one is actually wearing the flag as swim trunks, etc.

Correct. If you ever see a flag patch on someone's right sleeve and it looks like it's backwards, that is why.

Agree, but they justify it because flag etiquette says "don't wear the flag as clothing", and the trunks were never an actual flag. Flimsy excuse, I think. You're also supposed to not have paper napkins or tablecloths (that will be thrown in the trash) with a flag on them.

I've never heard that flags shouldn't be on sports uniforms.

I still think those bulldog stickers are kind of big. I'm ambivalent towards helmet stickers. But if we are going to give out stickers for every win, and 2 for road wins, then a guy like Kylie Hill will earn 30 or more. They will cover his whole helmet.
